Russians Invading Georgia

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN

“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

…from a letter Theodore Roosevelt wrote to the president of the American Defense Society on January 3, 1919, three days before Roosevelt died.

For the last twenty years the United States has been invaded by millions of criminal aliens mainly coming across the US-Mexican border.

There are about 20 to 30 million criminal aliens in the United States and the Federal government does very little to stop this invasion.

The US Constitution under Article 4, section 4, requires the Federal government to stop invasions:

“…… and [The United States] shall protect each of them [the States] against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. …”

US office holders take an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States:

The Oath of Office and the Constitution

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

5 U.S.C. §3331

Yet they do not honor their oath of office my demanding the stopping of this invasion.

Most governments would not have permitted this.

Instead these nations would have defended their nation’s sovereignty by stopping the invasion.

Instead the American political elites of both parties decided to permit and even encourage this invasion with a policy of open borders and proposed amnesty for illegal aliens.

The leaders of the Republican Party promoted open borders in order to receive campaign contributions from businesses that benefited from hiring illegal aliens at lower wages.

The leaders of the Democratic Party promoted open border in order to receive campaign contributions  from unions that benefited from growing illegal immigration and with the expectation that the illegal aliens will vote mostly for Democratic candidates.

The American people have vigorously opposed both the open borders policy and the proposed amnesty.

A nation who invites the breaking of its laws and the invasion of their country, only invites other nations to try the same thing.

The invasion of United States of America continues and the death toll increases daily.

The American people are demanding action to stop the invasion.

The man who loves other countries as much as his own stands on a level with the man who loves other women as much as he loves his own wife.

Who Will Protect Us Against Invasion?

by Phyllis Schlafly

“…President George W. Bush, in China attending the Olympic Games, responded promptly to Russia’s invasion of Georgia with the caveat that “territorial integrity must be respected.” We’re still waiting to hear the Bush Administration’s response to this month’s invasion of Arizona’s territorial integrity by the Mexican military.

San Francisco’s illegal alien drug dealer shuttle service

By Michelle Malkin

“…Hope you pay close attention to what San Francisco’s illegal alien sanctuary policy has wrought. Over the weekend, the SFChronicle reported that open-borders radicals in the city’s juvenile probation department are shielding Honduran illegal alien drug dealers from prosecution and deportation by providing them a taxpayer-subsidized escort and plane ride back to their home country–where they can promptly turn around and re-enter the U.S. with impunity. It’s the San Fran illegal alien drug kingpin shuttle service. All in the name of “family reunification” and protecting the “youths,” of course! The feds and the city are pointing fingers. Nobody will admit how many illegal alien drug dealers have received the free ride home and then returned.

Meantime, outlaw sanctuary cities go unpunished. ACLU-friendly judges refuse to side with the rule of law. The White House has stood by and done nothing as San Francisco flagrantly thumbs its nose at federal immigration laws–and openly advertises its sanctuary status. How many other illegal thugs in how many other sanctuary cities are enjoying such perks?

Corrupt Mexican Soldiers Bring the Drug war to the US

Mexican soldiers in service to drug cartels attacked a rival who had fled his home in Juarez. The problem is, the rival had fled to Phoenix, Arizona and the soldiers crossed the border illegally and carried out an assassination on US soil. The Examiner has an editorial on this outrage:

Mexican Army invades Arizona again

By see-dubya

“…Paging General Pershing. General John “Black Jack” Pershing to the Arizona desk:

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint Sunday night by members of the Mexican military who had crossed the border into Arizona, but the soldiers returned to Mexico without incident when backup agents responded to assist.

Agents assigned to the Border Patrol station at Ajo, Ariz., said the Mexican soldiers crossed the international border in an isolated area about 100 miles southwest of Tucson and pointed rifles at the agent, who was not identified.  …”

Oath of office of the President of the United States

“… do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Why do we Tolerate Mexican Troop Incursions?

“The men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol guarding the Southern land border come into constant contact with drug and human smugglers, criminals and migrants.  Every so often, they even encounter Mexican military personnel making unauthorized incursions across the border into the United States.

The most recent Mexican military incursion occurred last week on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation in Arizona.  According to reports, the Mexican soldiers crossed the border in a military vehicle and held a Border Patrol agent at gunpoint before escaping back to Mexico. …”

“…Building this infrastructure is an important step toward creating a secure and enforceable border.  Indeed, the Department of Homeland Security’s current plan for 370 miles of fencing is a step in that direction.  The agency should be commended as it works to reach its goal.  However, there continues to be a significant need for reinforced fencing in other border areas.  Given the proven success of border fencing in areas like San Diego and Yuma, The Department of Homeland Security should immediately expand fence construction to include the full 700 miles permissible under federal law.

The incursion in Arizona is just one more reason, amongst many others, to implement additional fencing and infrastructure on the border.  With the right effort, we can build on the progress we have made so far and construct 700 miles of new fencing by the end of this year.”

Bush to address Russia crisis at 5:15pm Eastern; Update: “Unacceptable”

By Michelle Malkin

“…Update: Bush…” “Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century,” Bush said a hastily announced statement at the White House.”

Georgia: US warns Russia as fighting continues

“…President George W. Bush said that he had told Vladimir Putin, the Russian Prime Minister, that Moscow’s response to Georgia’s grab for South Ossetia, its breakaway state, had been “disproportionate” and “unacceptable,” and urged that all troops return to the “status quo ante”.

“I was very firm with Vladimir Putin. I expressed my grave concern about the disproportionate response of Russia,” Mr Bush said. “We strongly condemn bombing outside of South Ossetia.”

Dick Cheney, the US vice-president, called the Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, to reassure him that he has the White House’s backing against what he described as a threat to Georgian sovereignty from Russia.

In a statement, Mr Cheney said: “Russian aggression must not go unanswered, and its continuation would have serious consequences for its relations with the United States, as well as the broader international community. …”

“…However, despite the tough talk in public, American diplomats conceded that the US had few options and ruled out military intervention on behalf of Georgia. “We have no good options,” a US National Security Council official told The Daily Telegraph. “We need Russia’s co-operation over Iran and derailing that over a localised conflict in Georgia makes no sense. We just have to hope that diplomacy prevails. The next necessary step is for Russia to respond positively to Georgia’s ceasefire declaration. …”

Georgia: The First Shot in a New Cold War

By Lance Fairchok

“…As so many times in the past, from the fall of Hungary and Czechoslovakia to Cambodia, Afghanistan and Kuwait, we know that the price of inaction in the face of aggression is tragedy and suffering for countless innocents, a price far above the sacrifice required to meet aggression head on.

The reaction of the US, NATO and the EU will determine the future of not only Georgia, but also every former Soviet republic that has the temerity to form alliances outside of Russia’s control; the Ukraine, the Baltic Republics and other uncooperative nations will experience similar manipulation and intimidation. Most already are. If we let this invasion go unchallenged and end in disaster for Georgia, all our high-minded talk about democracy and freedom will mean nothing. Major Georgy is fighting for the principles we claim to stand for, for the freedom that will allow his people to prosper. Our inaction will be seen as a betrayal, our promises false and our ideals hypocrisy. Vladimir Putin has fired the first shot of a new cold war, the first battle is Georgia and we can be certain there will be many more. …”

War between Russia and Georgia?

By see-dubya

“…When I scanned the headlines this morning this conflict didn’t look that serious. I thought it was Georgia vs. Russian-backed rebels. No, it’s Russia. Captain Ed, Gerard, and Ace’s co-blogger Gabriel Malor all insist this is very serious.

Not much to add from me, but I thought it’s interesting that the Russian media has started churning out propaganda already.

Georgia: We must unite to resist Russian aggression

By Denis MacShane

“…At least when Russian tanks rolled into Czechoslovakia exactly 40 years ago they did not shoot to kill. Nor did Russian planes bomb civilians or fly low over European cities to terrify inhabitants. And the Russian invasion of a nominally sovereign republic was covered by finding some local Czech communists who signed a Kremlin-drafted agreement in captivity. …”

“…Into this stewpot, Vladimir Putin has dropped – literally – a bombshell. By ordering a full-scale military invasion of Georgia, he has revealed the true face of his autocratic rule. By flying in person to the scene as if he was field commander-in-chief, he is showing the world that Russia will revert to being a military power willing to bully and threaten its neighbours. …”
