Instead of focusing attention on the costs of global warming, the benefits and opportunities of global warming should be explored.

In particular complementing the warming of the planet with the use of the earth’s abundant deep ocean water.

Their is an incredible opportunity to use deep ocean water for air conditioning, refrigeration, drinking water, agriculture and the generation of electricity.

The United States should take the lead with private enterprise making it happen.

For example companies like Intel and Microsoft could support the research effort given its benefits to hardware and software companies. Computers need electricity–lots of it.

Applied research along the lines of the United States nuclear submarine program in the 1950s could produce not only energy independence for the United States but an abundance of food to feed the world. Stop all the doom talk and focus on the coming boom for all mankind.

Just do it!

A Prospectus

by John Piña Craven

“…The public may have also forgotten the incredible industrial pace with which the nuclear submarine Navy was built. The first Polaris Fleet Ballistic missile submarine was authorized in the autumn of 1955. The first four submarines were deployed in 1959. Production was accelerated until “the boat of the month club” deployed eighteen of these submarines in eighteen months bringing the total to 41 in only 15 years. A nation that could accomplish that feat could certainly produce 100 offshore pressurized water reactors in submerged facilities located in the benign storm free environment of the ocean at a depth of 300 feet or more in the same time frame. Each could feed 1000 megawatts of power into the grid at appropriate points on the shore, serving more than fifty American cities and metropolitan regions.

Is this complementary supplementary energy approach an appropriate strategy? Wiser heads than ours may envision other ocean systems. If so it is time for them to speak. Nay it is time for them act. To the extent that the control of oil is at the root of our present day war on terrorism procrastination will only exacerbate the conflict. Indeed we need at least two springboards of complementary and supplementary hydrocarbon free energy resources to give the world the breathing room and the breath to prepare for an alternative to oil in the year 2101. ”

Global Cooling Resource: Deep Ocean Water

“DOW or Deep Ocean Water has the potential to help solve global warming. Since tchnologies employing DOW have effluents that are colder than the atmosphere, they cool the atmosphere. In Deep Ocean Water, we examine the purity, temperature, air conditioning, and renewable energy applications of DOW. Narrated by John Craven PhD, intrepid oceanographer and inventor. With botanist – oceanographer-explorer Sylvia Earle.”

Global Cooling Technology: Deep Ocean Water Agriculture

“Agriculture employing Deep Ocean Water (DOW) can help increase growth rates by cooling garden soil below the dew point, at the Natural Energy Lab where DOW is pumped ashore.
A closed pipe system buried beneath the soil is designed to regulate and circulate the cold water, chilling the soil to 45oF, well below the dew point, so moisture drawn from the atmosphere moistens the cool garden, much like condensation gathers on a glass of iced tea. …”

Springing from revolutionary shifts in thinking about how human endeavors must mesh with the workings of the planet, these technologies work in tandem with nature’s own processes. Today, CHC innovations born of these new paradigms are beginning to transform coastal desert areas worldwide into productive, sustainable communities. …”

Creating a Deep-Sea Oasis on Dry Land

The key to Craven’s cool world is converting the ocean’s thermal energy. The first step: Sink a pipe at least 3,000 feet deep and start pumping up seawater. The end result: an environmentally sustainable, virtually inexhaustible supply of electricity, freshwater for drinking and irrigation, even air-conditioning. Here’s how it works: …”

Deep Ocean Water

“Technology developments at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii have demonstrated that the technology for design, construction and deployment of prototype self sufficient deep ocean water systems is in place. These systems may include, but are not limited to, closed cycle electricity generation, air conditioning and industrial cooling, fresh water generation, coldwater agriculture of most terrestrial crops, and aquaculture of a complete spectrum of marine plants and animals. Economic, political, environmental factors are described which militate against the realization of any capital intensive project in a time scale which will permit amortization of the project. Labor intensive ‘developing country projects’ are similarly stifled. Realistic projects must, therefore be divorced from the need to raise capital, to employ high priced technology and technicians. They must be capable of being operated and maintained by unskilled personnel and there must be an immediate return in terms of product. In the alternative the project must be unique in its solution of a military or social crisis. The paper describes a number of systems now in the seminal stage which meet these stringent criteria. These include installations proposed for Kahoolawe, Malta, the Cape Verde Islands, Haiti, Mauritius, Tahiti, the Kona Airport, and the new town of Kapolei, Oahu. …”

“…Currently, the ultilization of deep sea water (DSW) is receiving much attention due to its high productivity, large quantity, and potential for recycling energy. Deep sea water, accounting for 95% of all sea water, generally refers to sea water from a depth of more than 200 m. DSW circles the globe over a period of about 2000 yr, and the up-welling of DSW occurs regularly in the oceans and seas throughout the world.

Although it constitutes no more than 0.5% of all water in the seas, up-welled deep sea water is highly productive, supporting nearly 50% of all sea products. With the worldwide population explosion contributing to an ever-increasing consumption of animal protein, the focus on aquaculture will undoubtedly also intensify. The high productivity of DSW as a renewable energy source may increase the role of aquaculture to cultivate food for the expanding human population. …”

Electric IT

“Beware, Google might be soon ready to overthrow Microsoft and become the new master of the IT galaxy!

At least, this is what one could understand from the remarkable article about the future of office computing by Nicolas Carr featured in the front page of the January 30 issue of the Financial Times supplement Digital Business. According to Carr, we are about to witness (yet) another revolution of the same significance as the shift from steam energy to electricity. His argument, based on the recent industrial-like development of Google, states that the supply of information technology will follow a similar path to that of electricity at the beginning of the 20th century.

What happened to electricity in the early 1900’s? It transformed from an exclusively industrial tool, used by factories to supply energy to the production chain, into a public good that would soon reach every home. According to Nicolas Carr, this literally revolutionized the way of life in the countries that benefited of this development, as the electricity became produced by plants from which grids of transport cables would bring it to all those connected to the network. At the beginning, the economic sector, especially the factories, were the first ones to benefit of this “service”, which helped reduce greatly their cost, as they didn’t need anymore to maintain their own electricity-production centers and supply and changed in great part the way business was done. As most of the industrial actors of the time quickly adopted this mode of acquiring electricity, the price progressively decreased to a point that this same service became affordable to individual homes. Nicolas Carr sees a similar pattern of evolution in the IT industry with the recent innovations and orientations taken by Google. …”

Deep Ocean Water

“Water in the Earth’s oceans differs in temperature and salinity. Warm, relatively non-salty water is found at the surface, and very cold salty water is found deeper below the surface layer. Deep Ocean Water (DOW) is the name for this cold, salty water. It makes up about 90% of the volume of the oceans. Deep ocean water has a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius, and a salinity of about 3.5%. …”

“…The simplest use of cold water is simply for air conditioning: using the cold water itself to cool air saves the energy that would be used by the compressors for traditional refrigeration. Another use could be to replace expensive desalination plants. When cold water passes through a pipe surrounded by humid air, condensation results. The condensate is pure water, suitable for humans to drink or for crop irrigation. Finally, via a technology called Ocean thermal energy conversion, the temperature difference can be turned into electricity.”

Disinformation is the deliberate dissemination of false information. It may include the distribution of forged documents, manuscripts, and photographs, or propagation of malicious rumours and fabricated intelligence. In the context of espionage or military intelligence, it is the deliberate spreading of false information to mislead an enemy as to one’s position or course of action. It also includes the distortion of true information in such a way as to render it useless.

Disinformation techniques may also be found in commerce and government, used by one group to try to undermine the position of a competitor. It in fact is the act of deception and blatant false statements to convince someone of an untruth. Cooking-the-books might be considered a disinformation strategy that led to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Unlike traditional propaganda and Big Lie techniques designed to engage emotional support, disinformation is designed to manipulate the audience at the rational level by either discrediting conflicting information or supporting false conclusions.

Another technique of concealing facts, or censorship, is also used if the group can affect such control. When channels of information cannot be completely closed, they can be rendered useless by filling them with disinformation, effectively lowering their signal-to-noise ratio. …”

New Study Explodes Human-Global Warming Story

“…Writing in the International Journal of Climatology of the Royal Meteorological Society, professor David H. Douglass (of the University of Rochester), professor John R. Christy (of the University of Alabama), Benjamin D. Pearson and professor S. Fred Singer (of the University of Virginia) report that observed patterns of temperature changes (“fingerprints”) over the last 30 years disagree with what greenhouse models predict and can better be explained by natural factors, such as solar variability.

The conclusion is that climate change is “unstoppable” and cannot be affected or modified by controlling the emission of greenhouse gases, such as CO2, as is proposed in current legislation.  …”

“…The mechanism for producing such cyclical climate changes is still under discussion; but they are most likely caused by variations in the solar wind and associated magnetic fields that affect the flux of cosmic rays incident on the earth’s atmosphere.

“In turn, such cosmic rays are believed to influence cloudiness and thereby control the amount of sunlight reaching the earth’s surface and thus the climate.

“…Our research demonstrates that the ongoing rise of atmospheric CO2 has only a minor influence on climate change. We must conclude, therefore, that attempts to control CO2 emissions are ineffective and pointless — but very costly.”

NO ‘Consensus’ on “Man-Made” Global Warming

Lawrence Solomon, Financial Post

National Post’s Deniers series:
“Scientists who challenge the climate change debate
Somewhere along the way, I stopped believing that a scientific consensus exists on climate change. Certainly there is no consensus at the very top echelons of scientists — the ranks from which I have been drawing my subjects — and certainly there is no consensus among astrophysicists and other solar scientists, several of whom I have profiled. If anything, the majority view among these subsets of the scientific community may run in the opposite direction. Not only do most of my interviewees either discount or disparage the conventional wisdom as represented by the IPCC, many say their peers generally consider it to have little or no credibility. In one case, a top scientist told me that, to his knowledge, no respected scientist in his field accepts the IPCC position.

What of the one claim that we hear over and over again, that 2,000 or 2,500 of the world’s top scientists endorse the IPCC position? I asked the IPCC for their names, to gauge their views. “The 2,500 or so scientists you are referring to are reviewers from countries all over the world,” the IPCC Secretariat responded. “The list with their names and contacts will be attached to future IPCC publications, which will hopefully be on-line in the second half of 2007.”

“…More than six months ago, I began writing this series, The Deniers. When I began, I accepted the prevailing view that scientists overwhelmingly believe that climate change threatens the planet. I doubted only claims that the dissenters were either kooks on the margins of science or sell-outs in the pockets of the oil companies. …”

John Stossel – The Global Warming Debate 10/20/07

John Stossel Exposes Global Warming Myths

“…In a release from ABC previewing Stossel’s report on Friday’s “20/20,” the veteran newsman and Newsmax pundit – who won 19 Emmys exposing scammers and con artists – says:

“This week on ‘20/20’ (in our new 8 p.m. Eastern time slot) I say ‘Give Me a Break!’ to our Nobel Prize-winning Vice President.

“Mr. Gore says ‘The debate is over,’ and those who disagree with his take on global warming have been ‘purchased’ in order to create ‘the illusion of a debate.’ Nonsense. It’s as if the Vice President and his allies in the environmental movement plan to win the debate through intimidation. I interview some scientists who won’t be intimidated, even though one has had his life threatened for speaking up.

“The Vice President’s much-applauded movie, ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’ claims warming is man’s fault and a coming crisis! While the earth has certainly warmed over the last century, plenty of independent scientists say scientists cannot be sure that man caused the warming or that warming will be a crisis.

“They say the computer models that are used to predict the disasters don’t include important variables because scientists don’t fully understand them. For example, warming may cause cloud formations that reflect sun and cool the earth. The computer models cannot know. These scientists call global warming activism more of a religious movement than science.”

Gore’s film is filled with “misleading messages,” says Stossel. …”

“…I suspect that next year’s government boondoggle will be massive spending on carbon-reducing technology.

“It reminds me of George Mason University Economics Department Chairman Don Boudreax’s suggestion that such schemes really mean ‘government seizing enormous amounts of additional power in order to embark upon schemes of social engineering – schemes whose pursuit gratifies the abstract fantasies of the theory class and, simultaneously, lines the very real pockets of politically powerful corporations, organizations, and “experts.”’

“He is so right. The abstract fantasies of the theory class will soon send huge chunks of your money to politicians, friends, activist scientists, and politically savvy corporations.

“The debate is over? That makes me say GIVE ME A BREAK!”

You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ – The Righteous Brothers

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

~Abraham Lincoln, (attributed)

Soon the time will come when someone must tell Senator Hillary Clinton that Senator Obama has won the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States.

Bill Clinton has been elected to tell Hillary Rodham–It is over.

Roy Orbison-Walk On

The inevitable candidate like Karl Marx predictions for the fall of capitalism has proven false.  The price of lying.

“…The development of Modern Industry, therefore, cuts from under its feet the very foundation on which the bourgeoisie produces and appropriates products.  What the bourgeoisie therefore produces, above all, are its own grave-diggers.  Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally inevitable. …”

It’s Over
By Lawrence Kudlow

“Allow me a dose of hardened market realism concerning Barack Obama’s landslide victory in Wisconsin. The race is over. Hillary Clinton is over. Her electability is over. Bill Clinton’s political invincibility is over. The Clinton Restoration is over. It’s over.Obama got to the far left faster than Hillary did. He out-organized her, out-fundraised her, out-speechified her, out-hustled her, out-dressed her, and out-presidentialed her. He outbid Hillary for votes, one promised government check at a time. His 17-point margin of victory in Wisconsin was incredible. It says he can’t be stopped. …”

It’s Over

Dick Morris

“…The race is over.

The results are already clear. Obama will go to the Democratic Convention with a lead of between 100 and 200 elected delegates. The remaining question is: What will the superdelegates do then? But is that really a question? Will the leaders of the Democratic Party be complicit in its destruction? Will they really kindle a civil war by denying the nomination to the man who won the most elected delegates? No way. They well understand that to do so would be to throw away the party’s chances of victory and to stigmatize it among African-Americans and young people for the rest of their lives. The Democratic Party took 20 years to recover from the traumas of 1968 and it is not about to trigger a similar bloodletting this year. …”

If Obama Went 0-for-10 . . .

By Eugene Robinson

“Humor me while we conduct a little thought experiment. Imagine that Barack Obama had lost 10 contests in a row. Imagine that he now trailed Hillary Clinton substantially in the number of Democratic primaries and caucuses won, in total votes cast, in pledged convention delegates, in the overall delegate count, in fundraising and in the ineffable attribute called mojo. Imagine that Obama was struggling, at this late hour, to come up with the right message. What would the conventional wisdom say?

That it was over, of course. That Obama was toast. …”

Time for Superdelegates to Ratify Obama’s Insurmountable Pledged Delegate Lead and

Settle the Democratic Nomination

“The handwriting is on the wall. It is virtually impossible for Hillary Clinton to overcome Barack Obama’s insurmountable lead in pledged delegates. The party’s superdelegates are faced with only one choice. They must decide whether to ratify the outcome of the primaries and support the candidate with the most pledged delegates, or they must overturn the outcome of the primaries in order to give the nomination to Hillary Clinton. They will be faced with exactly the same choice now or in June. It is much better for the party — and for our nominee — that they make that decision now. …”

Hillary still has a chance.
by John J. DiIulio Jr.

“…Hillary-backers and College Republicans are not extinct on my campus. But the undergraduate enthusiasm for Obama transcends gender, race, religion, region, income, and party affiliation. I have been teaching American politics for a quarter-century and never have I seen so many students inspired by a candidate. And it’s not just an Ivy League or secular-elite university phenomenon. The national polling data prove as much, as do exit poll numbers on young voters. Colleagues who teach at religious and other colleges attest to it too.

My students may yet get their wish. But for all that Obama has achieved so far as a hope-inspiring,

crowd-swelling candidate with great appeal to young voters, and despite the successive thrashings that Clinton has received since Super Tuesday, she can still win the Democratic nomination. And if Obama does get by Clinton, an even steeper challenge awaits in John McCain. …”

The Case Against Hillary ClintonWhy on earth would we choose to put the Clinton family drama at the center of our politics again?

“…During the Senate debate on the intervention in Iraq, Sen. Clinton made considerable use of her background and “experience” to argue that, yes, Saddam Hussein was indeed a threat. She did not argue so much from the position adopted by the Bush administration as she emphasized the stand taken, by both her husband and Al Gore, when they were in office, to the effect that another and final confrontation with the Baathist regime was more or less inevitable. Now, it does not especially matter whether you agree or agreed with her about this (as I, for once, do and did). What does matter is that she has since altered her position and attempted, with her husband’s help, to make people forget that she ever held it. And this, on a grave matter of national honor and security, merely to influence her short-term standing in the Iowa caucuses. Surely that on its own should be sufficient to disqualify her from consideration? Indifferent to truth, willing to use police-state tactics and vulgar libels against inconvenient witnesses, hopeless on health care, and flippant and fast and loose with national security: The case against Hillary Clinton for president is open-and-shut. Of course, against all these considerations you might prefer the newly fashionable and more media-weighty notion that if you don’t show her enough appreciation, and after all she’s done for us, she may cry.”

Hillary Clinton: A Trojan Horse?

By Bernard Chapin

“…Bay Buchanan, the younger sister of Pat Buchanan and former Treasurer of the United States, offers up some unique bulbs of observation amidst a larger garden of perennial wisdom. She updates the earlier tomes with an exploration of Mrs. Clinton’s time in the Senate and provides a central theme that is both compelling and persuasive. Her idée fixe is that character is a monumental aspect of leadership and that Hillary Clinton is a person entirely devoid of it.

The Extreme Makeover illustrates Hillary’s unfamiliarity with the virtue of responsibility, and that she is every bit as prolific and stunning a liar as her husband. Buchanan traces the scandals integral to Mrs. Clinton’s existence and finds one element common with them all: she could have mitigated the damage in practically every instance had she admitted the truth from the outset. This was trued of her venture into cattle futures, the Whitewater fiasco, Travelgate, her collection of FBI records on “perceived enemies,” and the Grand White House Looting scheme of 2001. Yet, self-admission is not something of which Hillary has ever been capable—she would prefer to blame others. The author describes her as a card-carrying member of “the National Association of Victimhood.” It may take several decades to document all the mistruths inherent to a second Clinton administration…and by then, in the words of Christopher Hitchens, they’ll be no one left to lie to.

The evidence on display is damning, but it’s highly unlikely to be read by non-conservatives due to its partisan viewpoint. …”

Forty-seven percent (47%) of Obama supporters think Clinton should drop out. Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Clinton supporters say Obama should drop out. Those who remain undecided are a bit more likely to suggest that Obama should leave. But, it’s worth noting that less than half of Obama supporters say Clinton should withdraw, less than half of Clinton supporters say Obama should withdraw, and less than half of undecided voters say either should withdraw at this time. …”

B.B. King – The Thrill Is Gone

Yes, the thrill is gone.

The more Barack Obama talks, the less chance he has of winning the 2008 Presidential election.

To say Senator Obama has a credibility problem is an understatement.

He is quickly losing both the white independent and youth vote. Forget about white older voters.

While he will most likely win the Democratic Party’s nomination for President, his candidacy is damaged beyond repair.

A far left liberal who attends a black racist church for over twenty years has little or no chance of winning.

Obama in his own words and in the words of his  pastor for twenty-three years has been revealed to be an ingrate, phony and hypocrite.

He is done.

Good bye, good luck, good riddance Senator Obama.

If Hillary could not beat this guy, do the Democrats really think she can beat Senator McCain? In their wildest dreams.

Double Life of Barack Obama
Wright is wrong for America.

“…Spin number one is that Jeremiah Wright’s words were “taken out of context.” Like most people who use this escape hatch, those who say this do not explain what the words mean when taken in context. In just what context does “God damn America” mean something different?Spin number two is that Barack Obama says he didn’t hear the particular things that Jeremiah Wright said that are now causing so much comment. It wasn’t just an isolated remark. Nor were the enthusiastic responses of the churchgoers something which suggests that this anti-American attitude was news to them or something that they didn’t agree with.If Barack Obama was not in church that particular day, he belonged to that church for 20 years. He made a donation of more than $20,000 to that church. In all that time, he never had a clue as to what kind of man Jeremiah Wright was? Give me a break!

You can’t be with someone for 20 years, call him your mentor, and not know about his racist and anti-American views.

Neither Barack Obama nor his media spinmeisters can put this story behind him with some facile election-year rhetoric. If Senator Obama wants to run with the rabbits and hunt with the hounds, then at least let the rabbits and the hounds know that. …”

Obama GrandMa Typical White Person

Media Matters Reports:Obama’s ‘Typical White Person’ Grandma

Grandma Got Run Over By a Campaign Speech
The road to universal love is paved with cheap shots.By Mona Charen\

“…And wasn’t it a bit of a cheap shot to take public aim at grandmother, who sacrificed so much for Obama, who served as his surrogate mother during his high school years? If she used racial and ethnic stereotypes, that was wrong. But the episode about the bus, as related in his book, is hardly a damning indictment of a secret racist. After Obama’s grandmother confessed to having been harassed by an aggressive panhandler, Obama writes:

“He (Obama’s grandfather) turned around and I saw now that he was shaking. ‘It is a big deal. It’s a big deal to me. She’s been bothered by men before. You know why she’s so scared this time? I’ll tell you why. Before you came in she told me the fella was black.’ He whispered the word. ‘That’s the real reason she’s bothered. And I just don’t think that’s right.’

“It was like a fist to my stomach, and I wobbled to maintain my composure.”

I don’t claim to know Obama’s grandmother and am in no position to judge her racial sentiments. But it does seem to an outsider that Obama’s judgment upon his grandmother is as harsh as his tolerance of Wright is benign. It isn’t as if he was raised in Trinity Baptist Church. He chose it as an adult. He chose those sermons he now calls “incendiary” and “inexcusable.” He says now that Wright misses the dynamism of American society, yet when it came time to decide where his daughters would attend church, he chose Trinity, where they would “learn” that the U.S. government concocted the AIDS virus to wipe out the African-American population, that the U.S. would “plant” WMDs in Iraq, and that blacks harming other blacks are “fighting the wrong enemy.” A beautifully delivered speech cannot overcome that history. …”

Justifying a Scandalous Dereliction
Obama has exposed his children to Rev. Wright’s hate speech for years.By Charles Krauthammer

“…But Obama was supposed to be new. He flatters himself as a man of the future transcending the anger of the past as represented by his beloved pastor. Obama then waxes rhapsodic about the hope brought by the new consciousness of the young people in his campaign. Then answer this, Senator: If Wright is a man of the past, why would you expose your children to his vitriolic divisiveness? This is a man who curses America and who proclaimed moral satisfaction in the deaths of 3,000 innocents at a time when their bodies were still being sought at Ground Zero. It is not just the older congregants who stand and cheer and roar in wild approval of Wright’s rants, but young people as well. Why did you give $22,500 just two years ago to a church run by a man of the past who infects the younger generation with precisely the racial attitudes and animus you say you have come unto us to transcend?”

“…One has to wonder about the thought processes of a man who has made a very healthy family income, well into six figures, for a number of years, and who now has a best-selling book bringing in major cash as well. How could he leave Granny in such an abject state of existence? Perhaps he is of the cultural sensitivity school: moving Grandma into a house with all the modern conveniences might isolate her from her neighbors, sparking resentment. If so, does he extend this logic to the welfare state back home? Should we let minorities express themselves culturally and give up attempts to raise them out of their existing conditions?Or perhaps he feels little real connection to Grandma. After all, she is the mother of his father, who abandoned him to be raised by his white mother and her parents. …”

Birds of a feather flock together,
And so will pigs and swine;
Rats and mice will have their choice,
And so will I have mine.

Queen-We Will Rock You

The pump and dump mainstream media fairly consistently ignored the church Barack Obama was voluntarily attending for twenty years and its pastor the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

Simply put many in the mainstream media knew that if the views expressed by the Reverand Wright were ever widely aired, Obama would have a lot of explaining to do and few would believe that he did not know Pastor’s Wright true feelings and opinions were over these many years.

No longer can the pump and dump mainstream media ignore Reverend Wright and Senator Obama’s long association and attendance at his church.

First the mainstream media pumps its chosen candidate up.

Then they dump him or her when the going gets rough.

The tipping point for dumping is near.

Obama needs to make a Nixion checkers speech, I doubt he can pull it off.

While Obama may get the black vote, the white male vote will defeat him and the Democrats know it.

Once Reverand’s Wright sermons are widely aired and Obama’s twenty year association becomes known, every white bigot and racist will make it a point to vote against Obama.

It will not matter whether Obama is at the top of the ticket or has the second spot, as the vice presidential  candidate.

It is not quilt by association, it is revelation by association, the mask is off.

Obama is damaged goods and nothing he says and does will distance him from his pastor.

Another one bites the dust Queen

The Democrats know they need a white male on the ticket and a fusion ticket of Obama/Clinton will be soundly defeated.

Will the Democratic super delegates give the nod to Clinton or go down in defeat with Obama?

A Whiter Shade of Pale

Senator John McCain, while not my favorite “conservative”, will win by a large margin, if not a landslide.

If the Republican Party establishment had backed a true conservative, the 2008 Presidential Election would rival if not exceed the Reagan landslides of both 1980 and 1984.

Senator McCain will win but I seriously doubt it will be a landslide for the simple reason many conservatives and libertarians will just stay home.

May I be the first to congratulate President McCain.

Barack Obama Speech on Race (Tuesday, March 18, 2008)

Transcript of Obama speech

Obama’s Big Speech

By Thomas Lifson

“…he has unconvincingly argued that he wasn’t there when the bad things were said, that Wright is like a crazy uncle, and that we have to remember that the scars of the past have not healed for the older generation. Worst of all, his language has been transparently evasive, making him look like a man with something to hide.

Obama implicitly promised racial healing, which is exactly what makes his two decades of cleaving to the teachings of a raging racial hater so shocking. The visceral impact of hate-filled pastoral rants and congregants clapping as they leap to their feet utterly contradicts the promise of bringing us together.

How can Obama get out of his hole?

Given his skills and the amount of time he has available to prepare, he may well be able to sell a formula that will reassure enough of his supporters to avoid a collapse of his campaign. Shoring up the base is usually the first priority for any politician in crisis. That should get him into the convention with a solid lead among ordinary delegates. At that point, the fear of angering his constituency will probably ensure he gets the nomination. …”

Obama’s Speech
By Thomas Sowell

“…The great unasked question for Senator Obama is the question that was asked about President Nixon during the Watergate scandal; What did he know and when did he know it?

Although Senator Obama would now have us believe that he is shocked, shocked, at what Jeremiah Wright said, that he was not in the church when pastor Wright said those things from the pulpit, this still leaves the question of why he disinvited Wright from the event at which he announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination a year ago. Either Barack Obama or his staff must have known then that Jeremiah Wright was not someone whom they wanted to expose to the media and to the media scrutiny to which that could lead. Why not, if it is only now that Senator Obama is learning for the first time, to his surprise, what kinds of things Jeremiah Wright has been saying and doing?

No one had to be in church the day Wright made his inflammatory and obscene remarks to know about them.

The cable news journalists who are playing the tapes of those sermons were not there. The tapes were on sale in the church itself. Obama knew that because he had bought one or more of those tapes. …”

The Coming Joint US and Israeli Military Offensive with Syria and Iran–Just Waiting for the Casus Belli?

Casus belli

Casus belli is a Latin language expression meaning the justification for acts of war. Casus means “incident”, “rupture” or indeed “case”, while belli means “of war”. It is usually distinguished from casus foederis, with casus belli being used to refer to offenses or threats directly against a nation, and casus foederis to refer to offenses or threats to another, allied, nation with which the justifying nation is engaged in a mutual defense treaty, such as NATO. …” [1][2]

Clinton Obama Fusion Ticket–Who is On Top?

Posted on March 8, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll, Economics, Immigration, Links, Politics, Quotations, Rants, Raves, Taxes, Video, War |

The Republican Party political establishment are hoping for a Clinton Obama Fusion Ticket to entice and motivate the grassroot movement conservatives to turn out and vote in November.

The Republican Party establishment might be right depending upon who is on top of the Democratic Party ticket.

If Senator Hillary Clinton is the Presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, then even movement conservatives with reservations about Senator McCain will hold their nose just to vote against and purge the American political scene of the Clintons.

However, if Senator Obama is the Presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, many movement conservatives with reservations about Senator McCain might stay home to punish the Republican Party establishment.

Movement conservatives rightly believe that had the Republican Party establishment got behind one leading conservative candidate that a repeat of the Reagan landslides of 1980 and 1984 was in the making.

The Republican Party establishment made two critical mistakes. First, they assumed that Senator Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic Party Presidential nominee. This would motivate both the conservative and Republican bases to turn out heavily in November, just to vote against Senator Clinton–still a distinct possibility. Almost any Republican would be acceptable, so the Republican Party establishment reasoned.

The second mistake was to assume that conservatives would blindly go along with a moderate or liberal Republican such as Senator McCain or former Mayor Giuliani. Instead of paying attention to the conservative and Republican Party base and its  response to the Senator McCain and President Bush led Comprehensive Immigration Reform S.1639 bill , they imprudently selected one of its leaders, Senator McCain.

McCain’s AMNESTY BILL slammed by Glenn Beck & Lou Dobbs

Glenn Beck outlines 8 PROBLEMS of the Kennedy-McCain-Bush Immigration Reform Bill S.1639 that failed on 6/28.PROBLEMS WITH S.1639
1-One-day amnesty
2-Tax amnesty
3-Weak enforcement measures
4-Reduced fencing
5-Weak employer verification
6-No entry/exit system
7-It trusted criminal aliens
8-It cost over $2 TRILLION
Lou Dobbs adds that the Senate is now determined to stifle talk radio by reinstating the “Fairness Doctrine”. …”

Hunter on US-Mexico Border Fence (1)

Hunter on US-Mexico Border Fence (2)

It remains to be seen whether the Republican Party will rue the day they ignored the bases of the conservative movement and the Republican Party.  Apparently the Republican Party establishment did not get the message sent by their supporters in 2006 and in the telephone calls to the Capitol in 2007 over the immigration amnesty bill.

Should the Democratic Party establishment and in particular the super delegates decide to go against Democratic Party voters, they run the real risk of losing voters from their own base.

Should Senator Clinton be the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee and Senator Obama not be selected for the Vice Presidential nominee, black voters will stay home more than even disgruntled conservative voters at the Republican Party’s nominee Senator McCain.

Should Senator Obama be the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee and Senator Clinton not be selected for the Vice Presidential nominee, woman voters and older voters will stay home as well.

Hence the need for the Democratic Party to have both Clinton and Obama on the ticket.

The question will be who is on top? For both parties the choice may be decisive as to which of the two parties will win in November.

Clinton-Obama / Obama-Clinton: Dream Ticket?

If you think a Clinton and Obama ticket is unlikely, how about a McCain/Clinton?

Senator John McCain from Maverick to Bridge Builder?

Posted on March 6, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll, Economics, Immigration, Links, Politics, Quotations, Rants, Raves, Reviews, Taxes, Video, War |

“Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one’s government is not necessarily to secure freedom.”

~Friedrich A. Hayek

John McCain is the GOP nominee for President!

Congratulations Senator McCain on winning the Republican primaries.

In a close presidential race, turnout is key.

The key to turnout will be whether the grassroot movement conservatives are passionate about the candidate.

Today, movement conservatives simply have grave reservations about Senator McCain on more than a dozen issues.

Conservatives simply do not trust him.

Senator McCain needs to build bridges to movement conservatives.

If he does not begin building bridges, he will lose the Presidential election for many movement conservatives will stay home and not vote for him.

Other conservatives will vote for him but not provide the support he needs in terms of money and time to win.

No conservative or libertarian and few Republicans will vote for either Senators Obama and Clinton.

Many conservatives and libertarians and most Republicans will vote for Senator McCain.

In other words the Presidential election is Senator McCain’s to lose.

Mavericks are not noted for building bridges. Just the opposite.

What the neoconservatives do not understand is that the traditional and libertarian wings of the conservative movement do not share their and Senator McCain’s passion for nation building abroad and “big government” conservatism in general.

While conservatives want a strong armed forces to defend the country, they do not favor foreign adventures in nation building.

There are several talking head neoconservatives on the Sunday talk news shows and a few on the radio.

However, most of the neoconservative big government allies are Democrats not Republicans.

Democrats will be voting for the Democratic Party nominee whoever it turns out to be.

The overwhelming majority of grassroot movement conservatives are traditional conservatives and economic conservatives or libertarians.

They number in the tens of millions. If a significant number of movement conservatives sit home or vote Libertarian, Senator McCain will lose in November.

Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?

In their publications, the Neoconservatives thrust upon us a great deal of useful information, and obviously are possessed of considerable knowledge of the world about us. But in the understanding of the human condition and in the apprehension of the accumulated wisdom of our civilization, they are painfully deficient.

Infatuation with Ideology. An instance of this lack of wisdom is the Neoconservatives’ infatuation with ideology. Some of you ladies and gentlemen present here today may have heard some years ago my exchange, on this very platform, with Mr. Irving Kristol, concerning ideology. He and various of his colleagues wish to persuade us to adopt an ideology of our own to set against Marxist and other totalist ideologies. Ideology, I venture to remind you, is political fanaticism: at best it is the substitution of slogans for real political thought. Ideology animates, in George Orwell’s phrase, “the streamlined men who think in slogans and talk in bullets.” …”

A Conservative Response to Professional Politicians–Stay At Home!

Posted on March 5, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll, Economics, Immigration, Politics, Rants, Raves, Reviews, Taxes, War |

” It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.”
~ James Madison

I did not vote today to send a message to professional politicians of both parties.

Neither of the leading Republican nor Democratic Presidential candidates are conservatives and or libertarians.

I will continue to stay home until the professional politicians demonstrate they are serious about controlling illegal immigration, government spending, lowering both Federal, state and local taxes, reforming the tax code and replacing it with the Fair Tax, and stop nation building abroad.

Low turnout is the kiss of death to professional politicians who relie upon the continued support of the conservative base to win elections.

Voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Anything you subsidize you get more of.

Voting for a candidate is tacit approval with the positions of the candidate you vote for in a primary, whether you do or not.

I will not vote for any politician I do not trust of either party.

Stay at home conservatives–the Republicans worse nightmare!

Microsoft’s Channel 9 Coffeehouse Community Killer–spam

Posted on March 2, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll, Links, Quotations, Rants, Raves, Reviews, Technology, Video |

Microsoft very wisely fostered a developers’ community with their Channel 9 web site.

Channel 9 (discussion forum)

“Channel 9 is a Microsoft discussion forum used to promote conversations among Microsoft’s customers targeted at Microsoft Windows users. Channel 9 features interviews with Microsoft developers about their products, a forum to discuss the videos and other topics, and a wiki[1], which has been adopted by various Microsoft teams as a way to aggregate feedback and respond to issues. …”

If you have not visited the site, even if you are not a developer, I would recommend it just to get an idea of what the people at Microsoft are currently working on.

For several years now Microsoft’s Channel 9 has been posting videos on a wide range of subjects, mostly of interest to developers.

As both a web developer and designer, video creator and writer, I was naturally drawn into the site and looked forward to seeing the recent videos.  While I never met Charles, Robert,  Jennifer, Tim, Ken, Rory, and Jeff, over time I greatly appreciated the work they were doing for the developer commnunity. A big thank you.

In addition to videos, Channel 9 has a number of forums and other media on Channel 9 with the Coffeehouse being the most popular and active forum.

Initially, I was not even aware of the Coffeehouse, for I was primarily interested in the videos pertaining to Sparkle now renamed Blend and web development and design.

I was taken by surprise one day when I was watching a video introducing Rory to the Niners, when they gave me a shout out.  Jeff had apparently read one of my Sunday posts in the Coffeehouse predicting that Rory would be replacing Robert. Cool!

Over time I began to post there on a broad range of topics and was very active poster for a brief period, until I started this blog eight months ago at the suggestion of some of the Niners. Thanks.

In recent months, while I have been watching the videos and enjoy the new Friday show with Dan and Brian, I have not had much time to follow the discussions in the Coffeehouse.

While I was busy doing other things, Microsoft management apparently instituted a new policy regarding both past and current posts and threads in the Channel 9 Coffeehouse.

Microsoft apparently enabled visitors to the site to mark anything they liked as spam by clicking on a spam button.

Channel 9: Report spam button is finally here!

While the comments are still there and can be seen by the person who originally posted the comment by clicking on the edit button, other viewers to the site cannot see the original comments. All you will see is the word spam.

Well if you wanted to kill a community I could think of no better and faster way to do so.

Such arrogance and disrespect of developers or Niners as many regular visitors to Channel 9 site liked to be called gives new meaning to the words clueless and killer feature.

Leave it to Microsoft to ruin one of the best things Microsoft has done for the developer community in years.

I posted the following in the Channel 9 Coffeehouse Friday evening, February 29, 2008:

Music can change the world.

Thread I posted on above:
This one is for Bill: Bing Crosby – The Whiffenpoof Song
I might add that the Bill mentioned in the above thread is William F. Buckley, Jr., who died Wednesday, graduated from Yale University and wrote a book about his experience.

Saturday morning I was surprised to find that the above post and thread were both replaced by the word spam.

When I checked to see what was going on, I found many other current and pasts posts and threads by developers world wide also marked spam and no longer readable except by the original poster and Microsoft.

Jamie who actively posts in the Coffeehouse tried to warn the moderators and Niners by posting:

dont hit spam!  its just music

Now I understand what Jamie was referring to in his comment:

Time to spank the children

A wakeup call for the Microsoft management:

The children do not need to be spanked, the adult supervision does for enabling the spam button!

While the Channel 9 guys were coding version 4 of the Channel 9 site, the arbitrary use of the spam button by some users ruined the Coffeehouse forum as a place of conversation and discussion of topics of interest to developers.

What were you thinking?

Jamie is right. The spam button needs to be deleted ASAP not revisited.

Well, I could not resist and posted some spam on Channel 9:
