Who is Maurice Strong?
“…”THE survival of civilization in something like its present form might depend significantly on the efforts of a single man,” declared The New Yorker. The New York Times hailed that man as the “Custodian of the Planet.” He is perpetually on the short list of candidates for Secretary General of the United Nations. This lofty eminence? Maurice Strong, of course. Never heard of him? Well, you should have. Militia members are famously worried that black helicopters are practicing maneuvers with blue-helmeted UN troops in a plot to take over America. But the actual peril is more subtle. A small cadre of obscure international bureaucrats are hard at work devising a system of “global governance” that is slowly gaining control over ordinary Americans’ lives. Maurice Strong, a 68-year-old Canadian, is the “indispensable man” at the center of this creeping UN power grab. …”
“…In short, “While on the board of a Chicago-based charity, Barack Obama helped fund a carbon trading exchange that will likely play a critical role in the cap-and-trade carbon reduction program he is now trying to push through Congress as president.”
The charity was the Joyce Foundation on whose board of directors Obama served and which gave nearly $1.1 million in two separate grants that were “instrumental in developing and launching the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange, which now calls itself “North America’s only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.”
And that’s only the beginning of this tawdry tale, Mr. Barnes.
The “privately-owned” Chicago Climate Exchange is heavily influenced by Obama cohorts Al Gore and Maurice Strong.
For years now Strong and Gore have been cashing in on that lucrative cottage industry known as man-made global warming.
Strong is on the board of directors of the Chicago Climate Exchange, Wikipedia-described as “the world’s first and North America’s only legally binding greenhouse gas emission registry reduction system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil.” …”
“…For the time being, however, Annan and Strong have avoided calling for global taxes or user fees to finance the UN. One spokesman said that the issue was simply “too hot to handle right now.” What they propose is a Revolving Credit Fund of $1 billion so that the UN will have a source of operating funds even if a major contributor (e.g., the U.S.) withholds contributions for a time. In short, the CGG’s blueprint for a more powerful UN closely resembles the movement to expand the requirements of the Framework Convention on Global Climate Change. While the process may be piecemeal, the goal is clear: a more powerful set of international institutions, increasingly emancipated from the control of the major powers, increasingly accountable not to representative democratic institutions but to unelected bureaucracies, and increasingly exercising authority over how people, companies, and governments run their affairs — not just Americans, but everyone. In short, Col. Qaddafi’s definition of his leftist Green Revolution: “Committees Everywhere.”
If so, the future looks good for Maurice Strong. One UN source suggested that, at the very least, he would like to be made Secretary General of the Millennium Assembly or the People’s Assembly. Others suspect that, even at age 68, Strong is angling to be the next UN Secretary General.
Such eminence may help explain a puzzling incident in his early career. Having long had political ambitions, he decided to enter the Canadian Parliament. A candidate was evicted from a safe constituency by the Liberal leadership, and Strong moved in. Then, with only a month to go before the 1979 election, he suddenly pulled out of the race. Strong’s business deals were especially complicated at the time — he was setting up a Swiss oil-and-gas exploration company with partners that included the Kuwaiti Finance Minister and the Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation — and that is the explanation usually given. But maybe he just decided that for a man who wants power, elections are an unnecessary obstacle.”
“…”In an essay by Strong entitled Stockholm to Rio: A Journey Down a Generation, he says:
“Strengthening the role the United Nations can play…will require serious examination of the need to extend into the international arena the rule of law and the principle of taxation to finance agreed actions which provide the basis for governance at the national level. But this will not come about easily. Resistance to such changes is deeply entrenched. They will come about not through the embrace of full blown world government, but as a careful and pragmatic response to compelling imperatives and the inadequacies of alternatives.”"The concept of national sovereignty has been an immutable, indeed sacred, principle of international relations. It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation. What is needed is recognition of the reality that in so many fields, and this is particularly true of environmental issues, it is simply not feasible for sovereignty to be exercised unilaterally by individual nation-states, however powerful. The global community must be assured of environmental security.”[8]
Maurice Strong has demonstrated an uncanny ability to manipulate people, institutions, governments, and events to achieve the outcome he desires. Through his published writings and public presentations he has declared his desire to empower the U.N. as the global authority to manage a new era of global governance. He has positioned his NGO triumvirite, the IUCN, WWF, and the WRI, to varnish U.N. activity with the perception of “civil society” respectability. And now he has been appointed Senior Advisor to the U.N. Secretary General and assigned the responsibility of reforming the United Nations bureaucracy. The fox has been given the assignment, and all the tools necessary, to repair the henhouse to his liking.

“…He knows how he is viewed by opponents to his radical environmentalism, or his promotion of a UN government with taxation and enforcement powers that trump national governments. And he seems to rather enjoy being described as a man at the centre of secretive power-brokering.
“Sure, these are but the deluded and paranoid ravings of the Western far right, and I wouldn’t normally trouble to mention them at all,” Strong writes in his self-conscious autobiography, “Except that my reaction when I hear a few of these charges is that I wish I had a smidgen of the power (and money!) they say I have.
“I wish I could accomplish a few of the things they already attribute to me. I do wish I could assist my many friends and colleagues in all the organizations I belong to, to remake the political and economic landscape.”
But this is Strong feigning modesty, and not very convincingly. Later in his autobiography, he reprints his ostentatious seven-page resume, boasting every connection he has.
His book takes name-dropping to a new level, including a seven-page “name index,” a list of hundreds of blue-chip associates that Strong has in his Rolodex.
Maurice Strong: A Dr. Evil-style strategist. Owner of a 200,000-acre New Age Zen colony. Designer of a proposal to “consider” requiring licences to have babies.
“…Maurice F. Strong, PC, CC, OM, FRSC (born April 29, 1929) is a Canadian businessman. He is an entrepreneur, environmentalist, and one of the world’s leading proponents of the United Nations’s involvement in world affairs.
Born in Oak Lake, Manitoba, Strong had his start as a petroleum entrepreneur and became president of Power Corporation until 1966. In the early 1970s he was Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and then became the first Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme. He returned to Canada to become Chief Executive Officer of Petro-Canada from 1976 to 1978. He headed Ontario Hydro, one of North Americas largest power utilities, was national President and Chairman of the Extension Committee of the World Alliance of YMCAs, and headed American Water Development Incorporated.
Today Strong lives in the People’s Republic of China,[citation needed] and is President of the Council of the United Nations’s University for Peace. UPEACE is the only university in the UN system able to grant degrees at the masters and doctoral. He is an active honorary professor at Peking University and Honorary Chairman of its Environmental Foundation. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Research on Security and Sustainability for Northeast Asia.

The two cherub like choirboys singing loudest in the Holier Than Thou Global Warming Cathedral are Maurice Strong and Al Gore.
This duo has done more than anyone else to advance the alarmism of man-made global warming.
With little media monitoring, both Strong and Gore are cashing in on the lucrative cottage industry known as man-made global warming. …”

Cheap Tomatoes
“…THIS HAS GOT TO BE PASSED ALONG TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE OR WE WILL ALL GO DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE A FEW DON’T CARE.
This English teacher has phrased it the best I’ve seen yet.
Tomatoes and Cheap Labor
CHEAP TOMATOES?
This should make everyone think, be you’re Democrat, Republican or Independent
>From a California school teacher – - -
“As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:
I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels
Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.
Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I’m not talking a glass of milk and roll — but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten.
I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids.
I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing
funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America .
I have had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students, here in the country less than 3 months, who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them “Putas”(whores) and throwing things, that the teachers were in tears.
Free medical, free education, free food, free day care etc., etc, etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?
To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.
Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases. For me, I’ll pay more for tomatoes.
Americans, We need to wake up.
It does, however, have everything to do with culture: It involves an American third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about”political correctness” that we don’t have the will to do anything about it.
If this makes your blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you know.
CHEAP LABOR? Isn’t that what the whole immigration issue is about?
Business doesn’t want to pay a decent wage.
Consumers don’t want expensive produce.
Government will tell you Americans don’t want the jobs.
But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase “cheap labor” is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as “cheap labor.”
Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an “earned income credit” of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.
He qualifies for food stamps.
He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.
He requires bilingual teachers and books.
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
If they are, or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI. If qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicaid. All of this is at (our) taxpayer’s expense.
He doesn’t worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.
Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.
Working Americans
are lucky to have $5.00 or $6..00/hour left after paying their bills and his.
Cheap labor? NO IT’S NOT!
THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE SHOULD BE ADDRESSING TO THE CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS OF EITHER PARTY. ‘AND WHEN THEY LIE TO US AND DON’T DO AS THEY SAY, WE SHOULD REPLACE THEM .
Please pass this on to as many as possible. Immigration legislation is to be considered in 2010. This is important to working Americans, our economy and our American culture and heritage.. …”

If a foreign country such as the Soviet Union or Communist China is falling behind the United States both economically and militarily, what would this government do to slow down or even wreck the United States economy?
Find a way for the U.S. to waste massive amounts of money and resources on a project that would place United States’ companies at a competitive disadvantage and would further transfer money in the form of a tax to other nations.
This is exactly what the cap-and-trade energy tax would do when combined with the United Nations tax on wealthy nations that President Obama supports in the Global Poverty Act.

“…Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) is North America’s only voluntary, legally binding greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and trading system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil.
CCX employs independent verification, includes six greenhouse gases, and has been trading greenhouse gas emission allowances since 2003. The companies joining the exchange commit to reducing their aggregate emissions by 6% by 2010. To date the exchange has more than 350 members ranging from corporations like Ford, DuPont, and Motorola, to state and municipalities such as Oakland and Chicago, to educational institutions such as University of California, San Diego, Tufts University, Michigan State University and University of Minnesota, to farmers and their organizations, such as the National Farmers Union and the Iowa Farm Bureau. The government run passenger rail corporation, Amtrak, is also a member of the exchange and is trying to reduce its emissions even though the railroad plans to increase its annual ridership greatly. CCX has an aggregate baseline of 226 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent, which is equal to the United Kingdom’s annual allocation under the EU ETS. This would make the CCX market comparable to one of the larger countries in the EU CO2 market, or 4% of U.S. annual GHG emissions.
Climate Exchange PLC
CCX is operated by the public company Climate Exchange PLC, which also owns the European Climate Exchange.[1] Richard Sandor, creator of the Sustainable Performance Group, founded the exchange and has been a spokesman for it. The exchange trades in emissions of six gases: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulfur hexafluoride, perfluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons. CCX started trading in October 2003, prior to the commencement of trading in the European Union through the ETS system.

Ezra Taft Benson
“…Ezra Taft Benson (August 4, 1899 – May 30, 1994) was the thirteenth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1985 until his death and was United States Secretary of Agriculture for both terms of the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Born on a farm in Whitney, Idaho, Benson was the oldest of eleven children. He was the great grandson of another Ezra Taft Benson, now known as “Ezra T. Benson”, who was appointed by Brigham Young as a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles from 1846 on. Beginning his academic career at Utah State University, he was a 1926 graduate of Brigham Young University (after serving a church mission in Britain from 1921 to 1923). He received his masters degree from Iowa State University and did preliminary work on a doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley, but never completed this degree. Benson pursued a career in agriculture and later served in many church leadership positions. Just after receiving his masters he returned to Whitney to run the family farm, but later became the county agriculture extension agent. In 1926 he married Flora Smith Amussen; they had six children.
In 1939, when he was president of the church’s Boise, Idaho, stake and working for the University of Idaho Extension Service, he moved to Washington, D.C. to become Executive Secretary of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, and became the first president of a new LDS Church stake there.

The Obama/Clinton plans were labeled the Foggy Bottom Papers apparently following the lead of the name of the stolen Pentagon Papers under President Nixon.
President Obama’s pledge to transform America with comprehensive health care and immigration reform takes on new meaning.
An expanded United States of America will have both English and Spanish as the official language.
The population of the United States estimated to be about 310 in 2010 would increase by another 114 million from Mexico for a total population of about 424 million.
The United States needs cheap labor and energy and Mexico has an excess of both.
The progressive radical socialist Democratic party should win most if not all of the new Senate, House of Representative and Governor political offices if the seven new states were in fact made states.
The new states would guarantee that the Democratic Party would dominate the Senate, House of Representatives, and the Executive Branch or Presidency for many decades into the future.
The labor unions and Catholic Church are big backers for adding these seven new states for they believe they would increase both union and Church membership.
Serious consideration is being given to putting the drug cartels out of business by simply legalizing the drugs and taxing drug sales by approved drug wholesalers and retail stores.
The legal sale of marijuana, amphetamines, heroin and other now illegal drugs to adults would eliminate the massive profits the Mexican drug cartels currently obtained in the United States and Mexico to fund and expand their illegal operations.
Legal drugs would be cheaper, safer, and of better quality and the Federal and state governments would increase tax revenues that they badly need to pay for the comprehensive health care reform law as well as huge and growing deficits in Medicare.
This new source of tax revenues would be used to reduce the massive budget deficits the United States Federal government is currently running.
Also, the cost of millions of criminals now in U.S and Mexico jails and prisons would be reduced to the extent that drug related crimes would be significantly reduced.
Currently illegal drugs would join alcohol and tobacco as products you could buy at your local retail store or bar.
Even with the added taxes, the drugs would be cheaper to buy than illegal drugs.
Expect the drug cartels to fight back by bribing politicians to vote against the legalization of their product and the 7 new states addition to the United States.
Will the American people approve of this progressive radical socialist Democratic Party plan of health and immigration reform?
I think not.

United Mexican States
The United Mexican States[8] (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos (help·info)), commonly known as Mexico ([ˈmexiko] ( listen), English /ˈmɛksɪkoʊ/), is a federal constitutional republic in North America. It is bordered on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico.[9][10] Covering almost 2 million square kilometres (over 760,000 sq mi),[11] Mexico is the fifth-largest country in the Americas by total area and the 14th largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of 111 million,[12] it is the 11th most populous country and the most populous Hispanophone country on earth. Mexico is a federation comprising thirty-one states and a Federal District, the capital city.
In Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica many cultures matured into advanced civilizations such as the Olmec, the Toltec, the Teotihuacan, the Zapotec, the Maya and the Aztec before the first contact with Europeans. In 1521, Spain conquered and colonized the territory, which was administered as the viceroyalty of New Spain which would eventually become Mexico as the colony gained independence in 1821. The post-independence period was characterized by economic instability, territorial secession and civil war, including foreign intervention, two empires and two long domestic dictatorships. The latter led to the Mexican Revolution in 1910, which culminated with the promulgation of the 1917 Constitution and the emergence of the country’s current political system. Elections held in July 2000 marked the first time that an opposition party won the presidency from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (Spanish: Partido Revolucionario Institucional, PRI).
As a regional power,[13][14] and currently the only Latin American member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) since 1994, Mexico is firmly established as an upper middle-income country,[15] and is considered a newly industrialized country[16][17][18][19] and an emerging power.[20] It has the 13th largest nominal GDP and the 11th largest by purchasing power parity. The economy is strongly linked to those of its North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) partners, especially the United States,[21][22] as well as tourism, being the world’s tenth most visited country with over 21.4 million international arrivals.[23] Mexico boasts a long tradition in the arts, renowned cuisine, and culture, ranking as the world’s fifth country with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites to date (29) and first in the Americas.[24][25][26]
“…By annexing Mexico and encouraging American business and industry to expand there, creating new jobs, improving that nation’s prosperity, Mexicans would have less need to relocate in America. Even a Mexican government spokesman, addressing a press conference in January 2006, acknowledged that many of the illegals are actually seeking “a better condition of life despite the fact that they had work here.”
Then there’s the issue of crime. Mexico is a major corridor for the drug cartels that feed the addictions of American citizens. The cartels are violent and have corrupted the governance of Mexico at all levels. By annexing Mexico, we can more effectively battle this pernicious enemy that already threatens the peace of many southwestern cities and communities
There is the language problem and, frankly, English will have to become a mandatory second language for Mexicans if they insist on coming to America to work or live here. Many Americans throughout the southwest have had to learn Spanish just to converse with their neighbors and to conduct business. For generations, Puerto Ricans have routinely learned and used both languages
Will we allow Mexicans to vote in American elections? Yes, but only when they become Americans! Initially we would need a long period of assimilation and acceptance of American values in the same fashion we currently mandate for those seeking citizenship through our naturalization process.
American laws and jurisdiction to facilitate trade, guarantee the rights of their citizens, and initiate a crackdown on the drug cartels that threaten the police, the courts, and other Mexican leaders would replace current Mexican laws. …”
“…1) Illegal Immigration-We all know it’s a problem, some say it’s none of our business as we ourselves were once immigrants, others say they need to stay in their land. The fact remains it’s such a problem because if you don’t legally exist, you’re not taxed, yet you still use public roads/education, and thus, taxpayer money, effectively making you a leech. If Mexico was annexed, illegal immigration would be impossible as everyone would be a registered citizen, and thus, taxable.
2) Oil-Considering we get a considerable amount of our oil from Mexico, the annexation of Mexico would prove beneficial with the resulting further decrease in gas prices.
3) Ease-With the Mexican military already joined in an ongoing war with the Cartel, and no Commonwealth like Canada to protect them, Mexico provides an easy target for the 500 billion budget military of the United States.
4) Proximity and Accessibility- Being that it is directly south of us, and no water barriers, annexing and controlling Mexico would be relatively painless unlike other wars that are oceans apart.
5) Natural Resources-Besides oil, Mexico contains many natural resources that remain untapped due to Cartel presence.
6) Labor Pool-Mexico is full of plenty of uneducated, impoverished citizens just dying for a chance to make a buck for their families. Combined with their natural resources and our lack of production, a mass influx of blue collars would be extremely profitable both for the American and Mexican peoples.
7) Cultural Diffusion-As previously stated, Mexico is a slum of a nation, by being annexed this, while yes heavily taxing our budget, would provide the Mexican people with better education, transportation, health care, and law enforcement.
8) Protection-Mexico’s military is stretched thin, and the Cartel is king, with the National Guard and federal civil protection, Mexico(as several American states) would provide them with the capabilities to maintain civil order and domestic tranquility.
9) Tourism-Common knowledge to the United States, Mexico is a popular getaway for cheap liquor, sights, and partying. Places like Cancun and the coasts constantly feed Mexico’s economy at our expense, annexing Mexico would lead to that tourism being returned into the newly combined American economy.
10) Morale-The United States hasn’t been successful in its recent ventures. The Cold War, while ending in our victory, depleted morale as we lost key wars such as Vietnam, and now we are suffering attrition in the Middle East, and to the American public as well as the world, we seem vulnerable. Annexing Mexico would prove to our citizens that we are still capable of overcoming these third world nations, and that we aren’t simply going to fall over like a colossus with clay feet.

“..The Mexican Drug War is an armed conflict taking place between rival drug cartels and government forces in Mexico. Although Mexican drug cartels, or drug trafficking organizations, have existed for a few decades, they have become more powerful since the demise of Colombia’s Cali and Medellín cartels in the 1990s. Mexican drug cartels now dominate the wholesale illicit drug market in the United States.[14] Arrests of key cartel leaders, particularly in the Tijuana and Gulf cartels, have led to increasing drug violence as cartels fight for control of the trafficking routes into the United States.[15][16][17]
Mexico, a major drug producing and transit country, is the main foreign supplier of cannabis and a major supplier of methamphetamine to the United States.[14] Although Mexico accounts for only a small share of worldwide heroin production, it supplies a large share of the heroin distributed in the United States.[14][18] Drug cartels in Mexico control approximately 70% of the foreign narcotics that flow into the United States.[19] The State Department estimates that 90% of cocaine entering the United States transits Mexico—Colombia being the main cocaine producer[20]—and that wholesale of illicit drug sale earnings estimates range from $13.6 billion to $48.4 billion annually.[14][21] Mexican drug traffickers increasingly smuggle money back into Mexico in cars and trucks, likely due to the effectiveness of U.S. efforts at monitoring electronic money transfers.[22]
“…The Mexican cartels, the report says, are “the single greatest drug trafficking threat to the United States.” The Mexican organizations have operations in every region of the United States and are expanding into more rural and suburban areas.
They’ve also stepped up cooperation with U.S. street and prison gangs for distribution.
With drug violence on a frightening rise along the Mexican border, the assessment found greater levels of heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine flowing across the border than ever before — and predicts more to come.
That increased traffic, the report suggests, is partly to blame for a rise in the purity of heroin and a drop in its price, along with an increase in overdoses and overdose deaths. Government officials, in fact, estimate that heroin production in Mexico jumped from 17 metric tons in 2007 to 38 tons in 2008. …”

Puerto Rico
“..Puerto Rico (pronounced /ˌpwɛərtə ˈriːkoʊ/ or /ˌpɔrtə ˈriːkoʊ/), officially the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Spanish: “Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico” — literally Associated Free State of Puerto Rico), is a self-governing unincorporated territory of the United States located in the northeastern Caribbean Sea, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin Islands.
Puerto Rico (Spanish for “rich port”) is composed of an archipelago that includes the main island of Puerto Rico and a number of smaller islands, the largest of which are Vieques, Culebra, and Mona. The main island of Puerto Rico is the smallest by land area and second smallest by population among the four Greater Antilles, which also include Cuba, Hispaniola, and Jamaica.
Puerto Ricans often call the island Borinquen, from Borikén, its indigenous Taíno name.[4][5] The terms boricua and borincano derive from Borikén and Borinquen respectively, and are commonly used to identify someone of Puerto Rican heritage. The island is also popularly known in Spanish as “La Isla del Encanto” which means “The Island of Enchantment” in English. …”
“…On July 25, 1898, during the Spanish-American War, Puerto Rico was invaded by the United States with a landing at Guánica. As an outcome of the war, Spain ceded Puerto Rico, along with Cuba, the Philippines, and Guam to the U.S. under the Treaty of Paris.[21]
The United States and Puerto Rico thus began a long-standing relationship. Puerto Rico began the 20th century under the military rule of the U.S. with officials, including the governor, appointed by the President of the United States. The Foraker Act of 1900 gave Puerto Rico a certain amount of civilian popular government, including a popularly elected House of Representatives, also a judicial system following the American legal system that includes both state courts and federal courts establishing a Puerto Rico Supreme Court and an United State District Court; and a non-voting member of Congress, by the title of “Resident Commissioner. In 1917, “Puerto Ricans were collectively made U.S. citizens”[22] via the Jones Act. The same Act also provided for a popularly elected Senate to complete a bicameral Legislative Assembly, a bill of rights and authorized the election of a Resident Commissioner to a four year term. As a result of their new U.S. citizenship, many Puerto Ricans were drafted into World War I and all subsequent wars with U.S. participation in which a national military draft was in effect.
Natural disasters, including a major earthquake, a tsunami and several hurricanes, and the Great Depression impoverished the island during the first few decades under U.S. rule.[23] Some political leaders, like Pedro Albizu Campos who led the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party, demanded change. On March 21, 1937, a march was organized in the southern city of Ponce by the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party which turned into a bloody event when the Insular Police[24] (“a force somewhat resembling the National Guard of the typical U.S. state” and which answered to the U.S.-appointed governor Blanton Winship)[25] opened fire upon, what a U.S. Congressman and others reported were, unarmed[26] and defenseless[27] cadets and bystanders alike,[28][29] killing 19 and badly wounding over 200 more,[30] many in their backs while running away.[31][32] An ACLU report declared it a massacre[33] and it has since been known as the Ponce massacre.
The internal governance changed during the latter years of the Roosevelt–Truman administrations, as a form of compromise led by Luis Muñoz Marín and others. It culminated with the appointment by President Truman in 1946 of the first Puerto Rican-born governor, Jesús T. Piñero. On June 11, 1948, Piñero signed the “Ley de la Mordaza” (Gag Law) or Law 53 as it was officially known, passed by the Puerto Rican legislature which made it illegal to display the Puerto Rican Flag, sing patriotic songs, talk of independence and to fight for the liberation of the island. It resembled the anti-communist Smith Law passed in the United States.[34]
Commonwealth
In 1947, the U.S. granted Puerto Ricans the right to elect democratically their own governor. Luis Muñoz Marín was elected during the 1948 general elections, becoming the first popularly elected governor of Puerto Rico. In 1950, the U.S. Congress approved Public Law 600 (P.L. 81-600) which allowed for a democratic referendum in Puerto Rico to determine whether Puerto Ricans desired to draft their own local constitution.[35] This Act left unchanged all the articles under the Jones Act of 1917 that regulated the relationships between Puerto Rico and the United States.[36]
On October 30, 1950, Pedro Albizu Campos and other nationalists led a 3-day revolt against the United States in various cities and towns of Puerto Rico. The most notable occurred in Jayuya and Utuado. In the Jayuya revolt, known as the Jayuya Uprising, the United States declared martial law and attacked Jayuya with infantry, artillery and bombers. The Utuado Uprising culminated in what is known as the Utuado massacre. On November 1, 1950, Puerto Rican nationalists Griselio Torresola and Oscar Collazo attempted to assassinate President Harry S Truman. Torresola was killed during the attack, but Collazo was captured. Collazo served 29 years in a federal prison, being released in 1979. Don Pedro Albizu Campos also served many years in a federal prison in Atlanta, Georgia, for seditious conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government in Puerto Rico.[37]
The Constitution of Puerto Rico was approved by a Constitutional Convention on February 6, 1952, ratified by the U.S. Congress, approved by President Truman on July 3 of that year, and proclaimed by Gov. Muñoz Marín on July 25, 1952, on the anniversary of the arrival of U.S. troops to Puerto Rico in 1898, until then an annual Puerto Rico holiday. Puerto Rico adopted the name of Estado Libre Asociado (literally translated as “Free Associated State”), officially translated into English as Commonwealth, for its body politic.[38][39] The United States Congress legislates over many fundamental aspects of Puerto Rican life, including citizenship, currency, postal service, foreign affairs, military defense, communications, labor relations, the environment, commerce, finance, health and welfare, and many others.[40][41]
During the 1950s Puerto Rico experienced rapid industrialization, due in large part to Operación Manos a la Obra (“Operation Bootstrap”), an offshoot of FDR’s New Deal, which aimed to transform Puerto Rico’s economy from agriculture-based to manufacturing-based. Presently, Puerto Rico has become a major tourist destination, and it is the world’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturing center.[42] Yet it still struggles to define its political status. Three plebiscites have been held in recent decades to resolve the political status but no changes have been attained. Support for the pro-statehood party, Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP), and the pro-commonwealth party, Partido Popular Democrático (PPD), remains about equal. The only registered pro-independence party, the Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño (PIP), usually receives 3-5% of the electoral votes. …”
The United States Should Annex Mexico: An Illegal Immigrant Solution
By T. Rawat
“…The “illegal immigrants” that enter the U.S. through the U.S. – Mexico border every year are here primarily to get a ridiculously low wage job that no other American would take, in order to send the money back home. Nothing about that is dishonest, threatening, or detrimental to the U.S. economy save perhaps the fact that the money earned is being sent out of the country. That one minor defect can be solved by annexing Mexico. That way, the money will stay within the U.S. contributing wholly to the U.S. economy.
These illegal aliens cross scorching deserts, evade zealous U.S. Border Patrol officers, travel (usually) more than 100 miles on foot and brave grievous injury and even death to come to the U.S. for a…job? Name one terrorist who went through all that to come to the U.S. just to get an honest job. The U.S. does a better job of keeping illegal immigrants from Mexico out than it does keeping terrorists out.
…”
“…Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media (1988), by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky, is an analysis of the news media as business. The title derives from the phrase “the manufacture of consent” that essayist–editor Walter Lippmann (1889–1974) employed in the book Public Opinion (1922).
The propaganda model
Using the propaganda model, Manufacturing Consent posits that corporate-owned news mass communication media — print, radio, television — are businesses subject to commercial competition for advertising revenue and profit. As such, their distortion (editorial bias) of news reportage — i.e. what types of news, which items, and how they are reported — is consequence of the profit motive that requires establishing a stable, profitable business; therefore, news businesses favoring profit over the public interest succeed, while those favoring reportorial accuracy over profits fail, and are relegated to the margins of their markets (low sales and ratings).
Government and news media
Editorial distortion is aggravated by the news media’s dependence upon private and governmental news sources. If a given newspaper, television station, magazine, etcetera, incurs governmental disfavor, it usually is subtly excluded from access to information (news); as a result, its competitors receive biased, preferential access. Consequently, the excluded news medium loses readers, viewers, and subscribers, hence its market-place business-leadership when it loses advertisers — the primary income sources. To minimize such financial danger, news media businesses editorially distort their reportage to favor government and corporate policies in order to maintain revenues and increase profits.
Editorial bias: five filters
The propaganda model describes five editorially-distorting filters applied to news reportage in mass media:
Size, Ownership, and Profit Orientation: the business connections among the owning corporations, the identity of the controlling investors, and the personal, political, and financial affiliations of external directors.
The Advertising License to Do Business: the advertising-income-based news media must cater to the political prejudices and economic desires of advertisers.
Sourcing Mass Media News: reporters consider governmental sources as more factually reliable than private sources. “In effect, the large bureaucracies of the powerful subsidize the mass media, and gain special access, by their contribution to reducing the media’s costs of acquiring . . . and producing, news”.
Flak and the Enforcers: powerful, private influence groups (e.g. conservative or liberal think tanks) organize systematic replies to reporters deviating from the official corporate interpretation of facts and events.
Anti-Communism: since the Russo–American Cold War’s (1945–91) ending, anticommunism was transubstantiated into the contemporary “War on Terror”, as the current national religion and social control mechanism. See “Media Control, the Spectacular Achievements of Propaganda”[1].
Recent developments
In 1992, the documentary film Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992), directed by Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick, partly based upon the book, presents the propaganda model and its arguments, and a biography of Chomsky.
The 1997 film Good Will Hunting (1997) features a university professor asking the protagonist if A People’s History of the United States (1980), by Howard Zinn, is better than Manufacturing Consent.
In 2006, the Turkish government prosecuted Fatih Tas, owner of the Aram editorial house, two editors and the translator of the revised (2001) edition of Manufacturing Consent for “stirring hatred among the public” (per Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code) and for “denigrating the national identity” of Turkey (per Article 301), because that edition’s introduction addresses the Turkish news media’s reportage of governmental suppression of the Kurdish populace in the 1990s; they were acquitted.[2][3]
In 2007, at the 20 Years of Propaganda?: Critical Discussions & Evidence on the Ongoing Relevance of the Herman & Chomsky Propaganda Model (15–17 May 2007) conference at the University of Windsor, Canada, Herman and Chomsky summarized developments to the propaganda model, followed by the publication of the proceedings of a commemoration of the twentieth publication anniversary of Manufacturing Consent in 2008.
In 2008, Prof. Chomsky replied to how internet blogs and self-generated news reportage conform to the propaganda model.[4]

Noam Chomsky
“…Avram Noam Chomsky (pronounced /ˌnoʊm ˈtʃɒmski/; born December 7, 1928) is an American linguist, philosopher,[2][3] cognitive scientist, and political activist. He is an Institute Professor and professor emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[4] Chomsky is well known in the academic and scientific community as one of the fathers of modern linguistics.[5][6][7] Since the 1960s, he has become known more widely as a political dissident and an anarchist.[8]
In the 1950s, Chomsky began developing his theory of generative grammar, which has undergone numerous revisions and has had a profound influence on linguistics. His approach to the study of language emphasizes “an innate set of linguistic principles shared by all humans” known as universal grammar, “the initial state of the language learner,” and discovering an “account for linguistic variation via the most general possible mechanisms.”[9] He elaborated on these ideas in 1957′s Syntactic Structures, which then laid the groundwork for the concept of transformational grammar. He also established the Chomsky hierarchy, a classification of formal languages in terms of their generative power. In 1959, Chomsky published a widely influential review of B. F. Skinner’s theoretical book Verbal Behavior. In this review and other writings, Chomsky broadly and aggressively challenged the behaviorist approaches to studies of behavior and language dominant at the time, and contributed to the cognitive revolution in psychology. His naturalistic[10] approach to the study of language has influenced the philosophy of language and mind.[9]
Beginning with his opposition to the Vietnam War, first articulated in his 1967 essay “The Responsibility of Intellectuals” and later extended in his American Power and the New Mandarins (1969), Chomsky established himself as a prominent critic of U.S. foreign and domestic policy. He has since become an outspoken political commentator and a dedicated activist; he is a self-declared anarcho-syndicalist[11] and a libertarian socialist. His social criticism has also included an analysis of the mass media; his Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media (1988), co-written with Edward S. Herman, articulated the propaganda model theory for examining the media.
According to the Arts and Humanities Citation Index in 1992, Chomsky was cited as a source more often than any other living scholar during the 1980–92 period, and was the eighth most-cited source.[12][13][14] He is also considered a prominent cultural figure.[15] At the same time, his status as a leading critic of U.S. foreign policy has made him controversial. ‘Sedition’ Is Constitutional
ByJohn Griffing
“…This history reveals that, apart from cases where incitement can be shown, using the word “sedition” against political enemies is out of place in a free country. Any American may oppose government policies without advocating the violent overthrow of the entire political system. Those who capriciously bandy about terms like “sedition” are knowingly committing an act of slander, since the charge of sedition requires the intent to upset law and order, a motivation nowhere present in the political movement collectively referred to as the “tea party.”
There are the occasional nuts on both ends of the political spectrum, but to tar half of America with such a firebrand word is to engage in willful deception and intimidation — especially in cases like that of alleged offender Glenn Beck, who is on record promoting nonviolence.
Bottom line: If debates cannot be won based on the strength of arguments, and it becomes necessary to engage in threats and ad hominem attacks, then the debate has already been lost by whoever resorts to these lowbrow devices. Maybe Cass Sunstein should spend some time examining the “falsehoods” emanating from members of his own party, like Nancy Pelosi’s decision to stop just short of calling conservative Americans Nazis. It is remarkable that we live in a time when the Speaker of the House can impugn her own constituents with the crudest label known to man and escape serious consequences.
The Obama administration and its journalistic allies must not be allowed to succeed in their goal of silencing free speech for short-term political gain. American freedom is too precious to allow it to be molested by those who would stoop to such dangerous name-calling.”
“A criminal charge of aiding and abetting or accessory can usually be brought against anyone who helps in the commission of a crime, though legal distinctions vary by state. A person charged with aiding and abetting or accessory is usually not present when the crime itself is committed, but he or she has knowledge of the crime before or after the fact, and may assist in its commission through advice, actions, or financial support. Depending on the degree of involvement, the offender’s participation in the crime may rise to the level of conspiracy.”

The real reason the President and the progressive radical socialist Democrats are trying to demonize the new Arizona immigration law is they need voter fraud by illegal aliens to assist them in winning elections.
Until amnesty can be granted to millions of illegal aliens already in the United States, the Democratic Party needs voter fraud to provide the winning edge in close elections.
Every day Americans must show their driver’s license when they purchase goods and services with a credit card or check.
This practice should be extended to the voting place.
The irony is that while I oppose a National Identification Card, it is the same progressive radical socialist Democrats that oppose the showing of a state photo identification card or drivers license at the voting place, who favor a National Identification card.
Americans by a vast majority oppose giving illegal aliens state photo identification cards or driver’s license.
A person should be required to present both a voter registration card and a state issued photo identification card or driver’s license at the place where they vote.
This would eliminate most if not all voter fraud.
Barack Obama favors both giving illegal aliens state drivers licences and granting amnesty to illegal aliens–so-called comprehensive immigration reform.
Why?
The progressive radical socialist Democratic Party led by Barack Obama needs the votes of illegal aliens to win elections.
The immigration laws should be enforced not broken routinely.
Illegal aliens should not be given a state photo identification card or drivers license.
One problem that needs to be mentioned is identity theft.
Illegal aliens after breaking into the United States, next buy a set of fraudulent documents including a driver’s license, Social Security card and other supporting documents that they provide to potential employers.
This is one reason why employers should be required to use the E-Verfiy system to determine if the number and name on the documents agree.
Illegal aliens should be removed from their place of employment in the United States.
Illegal aliens should be deported to their country of origin.
Presidential pandering to criminal aliens is not leadership, it is aiding and abetting criminals and betraying the oath of office he freely took.
Aiding and abetting criminal activity is itself a crime.
The United States is a nation under law.
No one is above the law.
Either enforce the immigration laws or resign Mr. President.

Roy Beck Testifies Before Congress Urging a Suspension to Most Immigration
The Federal Government under Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama has failed to stop the invasion of the United States by tens of millions of illegal aliens entering the United States across the U.S.-Mexican border.
The Presidents of the United States by refusing to enforce immigration laws and deporting illegal aliens, aided and abetted criminals and abandoned the rule of law for the rule of the few–the progressive radical socialist.
The intended consequence is there are over 30 million American citizens looking for a full-time job while over 10 million illegal aliens are employed in the United States in violation of Federal law.
When Arizona recently pass an immigration law to defend the people of Arizona from this invasion, President Obama attacked the law and played the race card.
President Obama is more concerned about the civil rights and jobs of illegal aliens entering from Mexico than he is about the civil rights and jobs for American citizens including blacks, Hispanics, whites and the young.
President Obama swore an oath of office to defend and protect the United States Constitution.
President Obama is betraying both his oath of office and the American people.
Enforce immigration laws or resign President Obama.
The time is now for every state to defend their citizens by enacting similar immigration laws as the state of Arizona recently enacted.
All employers in the United States should be required to use the E-Verify system to determine if an individual has the legal right and status to work in the United States.

Numbers USA – Immigration By the Numbers – Part 1
Numbers USA – Immigration By the Numbers – Part 2
All illegal aliens working in the United States should be removed from their place of employment and deported to their country of origin.
Unemployed American citizens should be hired to replace them.
Massive unemployment and illegal immigration, huge tax increases, huge Federal Government spending and deficits will all be the leading issues in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
Any politician that supports or votes in favor of comprehensive immigration reform, a code word for amnesty for criminal aliens, will be defeated come the next elections.
Illegal immigration must be stopped by enforcing existing immigration laws and the use of the E-Verify system.
Legal immigration should be limited, controlled and restricted to less than 250,000 per year when the United States has a low unemployment rate of less than 3% and to less than 10,000 when the U.S. unemployment rate as measured by U-3 exceeds more than 6%.
Currently there are over 15 million unemployed Americans and over 30 million Americans seeking full-time employment.
American citizens not criminal aliens should be the concern of the political class in Washington D.C.
If you ignore the will of the American people you will be thrown out of office at the next election.
It is the only fair, just and right thing to do.

If the Federal Government had enforced immigration laws, over 10 million American citizens, blacks, Hispanics, whites and the young would have jobs today.
Immigration law enforcement is all about jobs.
American citizens should be working at the jobs now being performed by illegal aliens.
The Federal Government’s gross failure in immigration law enforcement is violating the civil rights of American citizens.
All Federal Employees are required to take an oath of office:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Under Article 4, Section 4 of the United States Constitution:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
Both President Bush and President Obama took this oath of office.
Both President Bush and President Obama have failed to vigorously enforce immigration law by stopping the invasion of illegal aliens across the U.S. Mexican border.
Instead both favored comprehensive immigration reform, a code word for amnesty for illegal aliens or criminals and open borders.
All fifty states should enact immigration laws similar to Arizona’s new immigration law.
The President of the United States and the Attorney General are betraying their oath of office by not vigorously enforcing all immigration laws.
Immigration law enforcement is all about jobs, public safety, and national security.
The Arizona bill was very carefully drafted.
Asking a person to show their driver’s license or state identification is not violating a person’s civil rights or racial profiling.
Showing a state driver license or identification with a photo is done nearly everyday in the United States by American citizens.
Stopping illegal immigration is the function of both the Federal Government and local governments.
If the Federal Government will not stop the invasion of the United States by million of illegal aliens, the states will.
Congratulations to Glenn Beck for finally connecting the many dots of the massive investment fraud, government corruption and the subversion of science involving climate change and global warming.
Follow the money to catch a crook, spy and corrupt politician.
Unfortunately, not all the dots were connected.
I suspected several years ago that a foreign government was behind the global warming scare with the purpose to wreck or at the very least damage the United States economy that relies upon coal to produce cheap electricity, oil for transportation and natural gas for heating.
The two major suspects were China and Russia, or both.
Also countries use a network of agents of influence around the world to accomplish this such as Al Gore, Maurice Strong and Barack Obama to implement their plans.
The videos below show the Chinese, Maurice Strong, United Nations, and the Rockefeller and Rothchild connections that were not mentioned in Glenn Beck’s story.
The progressive radical socialists in both the Democratic and Republican parties were pushing the cap and trade energy tax and alternative green energy.
The progressive radical socialists should be voted out of office to stop this corrupt political scam, investment fraud, and science scandal.
Beck needs to follow up this report with several others, only some of the dots have been connected, certainly not all of them, and not the most important ones.
“…Frank Reynolds (November 29, 1923 – July 20, 1983) was an American television journalist for ABC and CBS News.
He is best remembered as anchor of the ABC Evening News from 1968 to 1970 and later as Washington D.C.-based co-anchor of World News Tonight from 1978 until his death in 1983. During the Iran hostage crisis, he began the 30-minute late-night program America Held Hostage, which later was renamed Nightline. …”
“…Reynolds, who served in the United States Army, is interred in Arlington National Cemetery. On May 23, 1985 he was presented, posthumously, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan. …”
“He knows not how to rule a kingdom, that cannot manage a province; nor can he wield a province, that cannot order a city; nor he order a city, that knows not how to regulate a village; nor he a village, that cannot guide a family; nor can that man govern well a family that knows not how to govern himself; neither can any govern himself unless his reason be lord, will and appetite her vassals; nor can reason rule unless herself be ruled by God, and be obedient to Him.”
~Hugo Grotius
“The malignant narcissist invents and then projects a false, fictitious, self for the world to fear, or to admire. He maintains a tenuous grasp on reality to start with and this is further exacerbated by the trappings of power. The narcissist’s grandiose self-delusions and fantasies of omnipotence and omniscience are supported by real life authority and the narcissist’s predilection to surround himself with obsequious sycophants.”
~Sam Vaknin
I concluded two years ago that Barack Obama was a progressive radical socialist.
A progressive radical socialist is clearly a collectivist which is a much broader category that includes all types of socialists, statists, fascists, communists, progressives, among many others.
I am individualist, classical liberal or what in America is called a libertarian–who oppose collectivists of any type.
While Obama does admit to being a progressive and radical, he continues to resists the label of socialist.
Obama knows that admitting to being a socialist would only confirm what many already know, it would also seriously hurt him with the American voters who simply want nothing to do with socialism whatever the type.

OBAMA’s END GAME REVEALED – Obama Socialist / Communist / Marxist / Maoist
What Kind of Socialist Is Barack Obama?
Jonah Goldberg
“…Obama is no Marxist. This is a point lost on some who like to highlight the president’s indebtedness to the ideas of the late radical Saul Alinsky, who was no Marxist either. Rather, Alinsky was a radical leftist and a proponent of “social-ism” before Blair named it. He believed that all institutions, indeed the system itself, should be bent to the needs of the underprivileged and the downtrodden in the name of social justice. Bent, not broken. Like the progressives and various Marxists, Alinsky was a proponent of radical pragmatism, using the tools available to change the existing order. This was the core of what the New York Times, in a remarkable 1913 analysis surveying Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas in the wake of his third-party campaign for president, dubbed T.R.’s “super-socialism”: “It is not the Marxian Socialism. Much that Karl Marx taught is rejected by present-day Socialists. Mr. Roosevelt achieves the redistribution of wealth in a simpler and easier way”—by soaking the rich and yoking big business to the state. “It has all the simplicity of theft and much of its impudence,” the Times asserted. “The means employed are admirably adapted to the ends sought, and if the system can be made to work at all, it will go on forever.”
President Obama’s health-care plan is a pristine example of this approach. He is long on record saying he would prefer a single-payer system if we could design one from scratch. But since he has to work from within the confines of the existing system, he has given us ObamaCare instead—which, again, is now merely a “critical first step.” It uses insurance companies as governmental entities, akin to utilities, to provide a now-mandatory government service. The insurance companies will make nominal government-decreed profits on top of government-decreed “fees” and “premiums” (the quotation marks are necessary given that rates will be set by government and enforced by the Internal Revenue Service). …”
While Jonah Goldberg prefers or at least plays with the label neosocialist:
“…My own, perhaps too playful, suggestion would be neosocialism.
The term neoconservative was assigned—and with hostile intent—to a group of diverse thinkers who had grown convinced that the open-ended ambitions of the Great Society were utopian and, ultimately, counterproductive, even harmful. At first, few neoconservatives embraced the label (as late as 1979, Irving Kristol claimed he was the only one to accept the term, “perhaps because, having been named Irving, I am relatively indifferent to baptismal caprice”). But as neoconservatism matured, it did become a distinct approach to domestic politics, one that sought to reign in government excess while pursuing conservative ends within the confines of the welfare state.
In many respects, Barack Obama’s neo-socialism is neoconservatism’s mirror image. Openly committed to ending the Reagan era, Obama is a firm believer in the power of government to extend its scope and grasp far deeper into society. In much the same way that neoconservatives accepted a realistic and limited role for the government, Obama tolerates a limited and realistic role for the market: its wealth is necessary for the continuation and expansion of the welfare state and social justice. While neoconservatism erred on the side of trusting the nongovernmental sphere—mediating institutions like markets, civil society, and the family—neosocialism gives the benefit of the doubt to government. Whereas neoconservatism was inherently skeptical of the ability of social planners to repeal the law of unintended consequences, Obama’s ideal is to leave social policy in their hands and to bemoan the interference of the merely political. …”
I will continue to use progressive radical socialist–it is more descriptive, accurate and has the advantage of motivating Americans who will not vote for Barack Obama and socialism to vote for other candidates and join the Tea party movement.
However, like Bill Clinton, Barack Obama has sold out his own fellow travelers by doing what the huge banks want:
Hartmann: Obama Campaigned as Progressive Really Conservadem Corpacrat Tragic Realization
Hartmann got it half right. Obama sold out years ago–he is a political hack who has sold out–to gain power to many groups including community organizations, real estate develoeprs, banks, unions, trial lawyers, and a foreign nation just to name a few.
Where did you think all that campaign money came from ?
The unions, trial laywers, bankers, and foreigners.
A progressive radical socialist who sells out is a liberal fascist!
In order to gain and keep power the National Socialist Adolf Hitler sold out to the German Army and industrialists who thought they could control him.
They were seriously mistaken.
Hitler was known for his oratory skills, the use of the big lie, hatred of jews and narcissism.
Sounds like a fairly close description of Barack Obama.
Read Goldberg’s book on the subject:
Liberal Fascism (1) — Jonah Goldberg ** UNEDITED **
Until Obama is out of office I will continue to call him a progressive radical socialist.
Calling Obama a Liberal Fascist would only result in someone calling you a racist.
A more important question is what type of personality disorder does Barack Obama have?
I am convinced he suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
When you combine a progressive radical socialist with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) who just happens to be President of the United States, you have a very dangerous situation.
“…Narcissism is not just a character flaw, but a mental disorder. Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and they are intelligent, when in reality they live in a bubble world of fantasy. It is this incoherence, this disjunction between reality and fantasy that makes them overly confident, self-assured and authoritative.
Narcissists disguise their feeling of inferiority by projecting unusual calmness, confidence, assertiveness, dominance and focus, and almost always possess superb thespian, communication and oratorical skills. These are traits that make one charismatic and attract a stampede of votaries like flies to sugar. Narcissists are needy people who crave attention. They develop these skills and act them out with regal exquisiteness to attract love, respect and admiration. They are performers, actors, slick chameleons.
Sadly, all the grace, exuberance, equanimity, charm, positive energy and magnetism that narcissists project, are pretence. They have the same function that the Styrofoam Greek columns at the Democratic National Convention had – to impress. The world of the narcissist is the magical world of smoke and mirrors. He is an illusionist.
NPD, and people’s lack of understanding of it, has made it possible for many insane individuals to rise to the pinnacles of power. It is to this disorder that we owe most of the carnage of history.
When the Bible describes Satan, it gives a textbook definition of narcissism. Narcissists are charming, charismatic, intelligent, persuasive, but deceitful and ruthless. They can seduce multitudes.
When World War II ended and its horrors became known, the world said, “Never Again.” “Never Again” can only work if we choose our leaders wisely. Once a madman is in power, it is already too late. …”
Some past leaders with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) include: Stalin, Hitler, and Mao, among the worse mass murders of the last century.
I for one am counting the days until Barack Obama is voted out of office.
Less than a 1,000.
“The narcissistic leader prefers the sparkle and glamour of well-orchestrated illusions to the tedium and method of real accomplishments. His reign is all smoke and mirrors, devoid of substances, consisting of mere appearances and mass delusions.
In the aftermath of his regime – the narcissistic leader having died, been deposed, or voted out of office – it all unravels. The tireless and constant prestidigitation ceases and the entire edifice crumbles. What looked like an economic miracle turns out to have been a fraud-laced bubble. Loosely-held empires disintegrate. Laboriously assembled business conglomerates go to pieces. “Earth shattering” and “revolutionary” scientific discoveries and theories are discredited. Social experiments end in mayhem.”
Does Obama Have Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
Michael Savage On Barack Obama’s Narcissism
Barack Obama – Narcissist or Merely Narcissistic?
By: Dr. Sam Vaknin
“…Predictably, Barack Obama’s narcissistic behaviours grew worse and more visible during his first year in office. As I noted in a radio interview (an observation later picked up by George F. Will), Obama’s first person “pronoun density” has increased since his inauguration. Properly measured, first person pronoun density reflects the number of times a person substitutes first person pronouns for more appropriate third and other person pronouns. Thus, to say: “My country, right or wrong” is not indicative of a narcissistic self-preoccupation; but the sentence: “The Russians were afraid of me” is improper because, clearly, the Russians are not afraid of any single individual: they are afraid of what he or she represents. Thus, context counts. It is wrong to merely count the times Obama has used “I”, “my”, or “mine” in his speeches and utterances (as George F. Will did).
Obama’s pronoun density has doubled between January 20, 2009 and October 2009. It then subsided, though it is still about 50% over the level exhibited during his election campaign. This would seem to indicate that his pathological narcissism has been exacerbated in office as he was probably basking in media attention and the trappings of power. The backlash, such as it was, against several of his more egregious behaviours and faux-pas led him to modify his conduct and pay closer attention to his syntax and grammar: Obama is now acting modest. False modesty is another hallmark of raging, malignant narcissism.
Obama’s body language has become more pronounced and haughty while in office. For example: I measured the number of times he tilted his head upwards and in an angle during speeches and public appearances (literally gazing skywards and avoiding eye contact with his public). The frequency of this particular gesture increased dramatically (almost threefold!) this past year. It is part and parcel of the narcissist’s “haughty posture” and his attempt to project omniscience, vision, and a cosmic-messianic mission. Similarly telling gestures and postures have proliferated after Obama has assumed office.
Another sign of Obama’s growing malignant narcissism is his lowered Adversity Tolerance Threshold. I compared the number of times he snapped at critics and journalists during the election campaign and after he became President. The frequency of such temper tantrums has increased, though not drastically. Obama is still maintaining thespian self-control when it comes to the media and to his carefully-cultivated public image. Where he doesn’t bother anymore to project benevolence and maturity is with his staff: he is markedly and openly more aggressive and dismissive of his co-workers, underlings, crew, and team, clearly relishing his quasi-sadistic outbursts and their public verbal whipping. …”
“…NPD is the prime disorder experienced by all the madmen of history – from Hitler to Stalin, Mao, Kim, Pol Pot, Osama, Khomeini, Saddam and Idi Amin. These men wreaked havoc and killed millions. They looked normal. Few suspected their insanity until it was too late.
Obama shares something else with these infamous narcissists: a chaotic childhood. One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse, such as the neglecting of his or her emotional needs. …”
Obama: Arizona immigration law “irresponsible” and “misguided”
Governor Jan Brewer Signs Arizona Illegal Immigration Bill SB 1070 Into LAW! Yes!!!!
Arizona gets tough on illegal immigrants 2010
FOX News Sunday 4-25-10 AZ Immigration Law
CNN- Obama = Amnesty For Illegal Aliens
Arizona Immigration Battle
Immigration Gumballs
There are over 30 million Americans looking for full-time employment.
There are over 30 million illegal aliens living in the United States.
There are a minimum of 10 million illegal aliens currently working in the United States.
The American people want jobs for American citizens.
The American people demand immigration law enforcement by the Federal, state and local governments.
The American people want all employers to be required to use the E-Verify system to determine if a person can legally work in the United States.
Instead the progressive radical socialists of both the Democratic and Republican Parties encourage illegal immigration by refusing to honor their oaths of office, enforcing existing immigration law and requiring all employers to use the E-Verify system.
The American people will vote out of office any politician that favors comprehensive immigration reform, a code word for amnesty for illegal aliens.
The American people will vote out of office any politician if they do not support illegal alien removal and deportation.
The American people will vote of office any politician if they do not support the requirement that the E-Verify system be used in the hiring of new employees and verification of current employee’s status to legally work in the United States.
All states should follow the example of Arizona and enact similar laws.
The civil rights of American citizens are being violated daily when the Federal government as well as local and state governments fail to enforce immigration laws.
Young and unskilled black, hispanic and white American citizens over the last decade have been replaced by illegal aliens.
Unemployed: 34.5% of Young Black Men
Standing up for Jobless Hispanic Americans
For example I watched two large buildings being constructed at a local community college where over 75% of the workers were illegal aliens that did not speak a word of English but did speak Spanish.
At this same community college the janitorial staff is mostly illegal aliens that again do not speak English but do speak Spanish.
How do I know?
I asked them several questions in English.
Local, country and state governments routinely hire contractors and subcontractors who in turn hire these illegal aliens.
All of these jobs would and should be performed by American citizens not illegal aliens.
By not enforcing immigration laws, the Federal Government along with state and local governments are discriminating against American citizens and violating their civil rights.
Arizona’s SB 1070: Sheriff Joe Arpaio Debates Kyrsten Sinema
Asking for a state driver’s license or an identification card is not racial profiling.
Playing the race card by saying it is racial profiling will not work this time.
Why?
Young and unskilled blacks, Hispanics, and whites have the highest unemployment rates.
Entry level jobs that were in the past performed by young and unskilled black, hispanic and white American citizens are now routinely going to illegal aliens so that the business can pay below market wages and benefits.
The American people are mad as hell at the Federal Government’s failure to enforce immigration laws.
The time for illegal alien removable from the workplace and deportation to their country of origin ia long past due.
American citizens demand immigration law enforcement and not comprehensive immigration reform–amnesty for criminal aliens!

Map of States with Mandatory E-Verify Laws
E-Verify is an Internet-based system operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify is currently free to employers and is available in all 50 states. It provides an automated link to federal databases to help employers determine employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security numbers. While its usage remains voluntary throughout the country, some states have passed legislation making its use mandatory for certain businesses.

Why Graham balked; can Dems win by losing on climate AND immigration?
By: Byron York
“…The fact is, many Democrats are just as afraid of the immigration issue as Republicans. The conventional wisdom is that immigration reform efforts of 2006 and 2007 split the GOP. They did, but they split the Democrats, too. In the Senate vote that killed the 2007 effort, 34 Democrats and 12 Republicans voted to move the measure forward, while 37 Republicans and 16 Democrats voted to block it.
And that bill was the result of long and painstaking bipartisan work. “In 2007,” Graham writes, “we spent hundreds of hours over many months with President Bush’s Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, and nearly every member of the U.S. Senate searching for a way to address our nation’s immigration problems. Unlike this current ‘effort,’ it was a good-faith attempt to address a very difficult national issue.”
Now, Reid says he would like to have a bill in three weeks. It’s a laughable idea except for the fact that the majority leader is becoming desperate and might do anything to improve his chances of re-election.
But even if Democrats can cobble together some sort of legislation in the next few weeks, they can forget about having the sort of Republican support that existed in 2007. The watered-down border security measures in that bill — the “virtual fence,” for example — have been dumped. Temporary guest worker measures are gone, too. There is no way many Republicans would go along with a new Democratic measure. Even the famously pro-reform GOP Sen. John McCain campaigned for the presidency in 2008 by repeating thousands of times that he “got the message” that the U.S. should “secure the border first.” Now in a primary fight with hardliner J.D. Hayworth, McCain won’t be touching a Democratic immigration reform plan. …”
Obama Blasts Arizona Law
Governor Signs Strict Immigration Measure as Fight Moves to National Stage<
?”…In an unusual White House attack on state legislation, President Barack Obama harshly criticized an Arizona measure to crack down on illegal immigration and made clear Friday that he is looking for an election-year fight over the volatile issue. Hours later, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed the nation’s toughest immigration law, making illegal immigration a state crime and requiring police to question people about their immigration status if officers suspect they are in the U.S. illegally. Ms. Brewer, a Republican, said the state action was forced by Washington’s failure to secure the U.S. borders and solve the nation’s thorny illegal immigration problem. “Decades of inaction and misguided policy have created a dangerous and unacceptable situation,” she said. The president said it was the state that was “misguided” and that the Arizona measure would “undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans.”a,/p>
Mr. Obama said he instructed the Justice Department to “examine the civil rights and other implications” of the new law. Justice officials said they were considering their options, and it wasn’t clear Friday what they might do. Regardless, the law seemed certain to be challenged in court by opponents. …”

“The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.”

To see these impulses manifest themselves so early in Obama’s presidency, and given all that he has said to the contrary, is rather startling. The danger is that as the pressures mount and the battles accrue and the political heat intensifies, these impulses will grow stronger, the constraints on them will grow weaker, and the voices of caution and reason will continue to be ignored. The progressive radical socialists of both the Democratic and Republican parties favored the bailout of banks and other financial institutions first under President George W. Bush and then under President Barack Obama.
The vast majority of the American people opposed the bailouts but the political class of both parties said we know what is best and ignored the will of the American people.
While there were many individuals, governments, and institutions responsible for the financial crisis of 2008 that continues even today, the two main enablers and primary cause for this financial meltdown and mess is the Federal Reserve System and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Economic Crisis: Causes & Cures (4 of 7)
What is interesting is that these financial institutions are or were perceived as quasi government institutions.
The Federal Reserve by dramatically reducing interest rates to near zero fueled the real estate bubble or rapidly rising housing prices, until the bubble burst.
The Federal Reserve or Fed provided the money or credit that enabled the banks to loan money for real estate mortgage loans for housing as well as commercial real estate.
President Obama never mentions that it was government intervention by the Federal Reserve that recklessly expanded the money supply and credit resulting in very low interest rate loans or mortgages loans for real estate to people who would not normally qualify for the loan.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac purchased these mortgages from the banks for the packaging that enabled banks to make poor credit risk mortgage loans and then turn around and sell them to either Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
President Obama is a con artist that loves to tell the big lie of no new taxes to the American people as he taxes them by first taxing their local bank or financial institution who then collects or pays for the tax by charging their customers higher fees.
Obama Pledges to Not Raise Middle Class Taxes
These taxes on local community banks and financial institutions will be used to bailout larger failed banks who need a bailout.
While the tax is indirect and hidden, the result is the same, the American people are paying more for banking services.
This is a hidden tax for any one that uses a local bank.
These taxes will fund future bailouts of large banks and other financial institutions who are just “too big to fail.”
It is not the function of the Federal government to bailout failed businesses by taxing the American people through their local banks.
Bailouts, subsidies, wage and price controls, and government regulation are subverting the American free enterprise market capitalism system.
The current financial crisis is primarily due to massive government intervention in the housing and mortgage loan markets by both Democrats and Republicans.
The solution is not more regulation, bailouts, subsidies and taxes.
The solution is smaller and limited government.
Government is too big to fail and yet it repeatedly fails.
The time is now for the political class to pay a high price for their mismanagement or more precisely government intervention into competitive markets.
Vote them out of office.
Failed institutions should be either sold in FDIC receivership or go through bankruptcy court for final resolution of the business.
The Federal Government should get out of the banking and loan business.
The financial regulation reform bill should be defeated for it institutionalize theft by the Federal Government and more and bigger bailouts in the future.
The initial $50 billion fund for bailouts will grow into trillions of dollars.
President Obama is conning and selling out the American people as he pays-off his campaign contributors namely the executives of big banks and financial institutions that contributed to his Presidential campaign in 2008.
This is the progressive radical socialist Democratic Party using the Federal Government to stick up the American people at their local bank.
Time to blow the whistle on the crime of the century.
Let the too big to fail commercial, investment and mortgage banks–fail!
This is market regulation–you make high risk investments and lose–the American people will not bail you out.
One or two “too big to fail”–failures, and these financial institutions will suddenly get free market religion.
No more subsidies and bailouts.
Ban bailouts, end the Fed, liquidate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, stop subsidies, and replace federal Government regulation with market regulation.
Vote for a big bailout bill–a tax increase– and we the people will vote you out of office in the next three elections.
You can take it to the bank.
“As Willie Sutton the bank robber said when asked why he robbed banks, ‘because that’s where the money is’.”
~Attributed To Willie Sutton, Bank Robber
“”Why did I rob banks? Because I enjoyed it. I loved it. I was more alive when I was inside a bank, robbing it, than at any other time in my life. I enjoyed everything about it so much that one or two weeks later I’d be out looking for the next job. But to me the money was the chips, that’s all.”
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac not included in financial reform legislation
Rick Moran
“…Congress is considering legislation that would reform the entire financial system of the United States – except the now government controlled mortgage companies Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae, and Freddie Mac.
The purpose of this legislation is to prevent another financial meltdown. If so, why no new oversight for Fannie and Freddie? This Investors Business Daily editorial explains:
The panic of 2008 drove all private-sector investors from the secondary mortgage market. At present, only Fannie, Freddie and Ginnie Mae issue mortgage-backed securities. Thus far in 2010, Fannie has issued $91.5 billion in MBS, Freddie $65.7 billion and Ginnie $23.9 billion.
“The administration and the majority party never saw or admitted that the GSEs played any role in the cause of the financial crisis,” said Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J. “If you don’t see it as a cause, you don’t see a need to fix it.”
Key Democrats insist that the GSEs are not being overlooked.
“This is a favorite talking point of the right wing, that you can’t have reform without Fannie and Freddie,” said a spokesman for Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. “But they have not yet made a policy case why GSE reform needs to be part of regulatory reform.”
Frank has said he wants to abolish Fannie and Freddie in their current form. His committee is holding hearings on government’s future role in the housing market.
At a March hearing, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner suggested that GSEs needed reform, but that there was a strong case for “some form of guarantee by the government to help facilitate a stable housing finance market.” No concrete plan was forthcoming, he said. …”
“…In his second book, Sutton tells, with pride, of how the medical profession adopted “Sutton’s Law”–the idea of looking for the obvious, before going further afield, when diagnosing. The “law” was coined by a medical professor who recalled that Sutton, when asked by a reporter why he robbed banks, had answered with his famous line.
Except it never happened that way. As he describes in the book, Sutton:
“The irony of using a bank robber’s maxim as an instrument for teaching medicine is compounded, I will now confess, by the fact that I never said it. The credit belongs to some enterprising reporter who apparently felt a need to fill out his copy…
“If anybody had asked me, I’d have probably said it. That’s what almost anybody would say. …it couldn’t be more obvious.
“Or could it?
“Why did I rob banks? Because I enjoyed it. I loved it. I was more alive when I was inside a bank, robbing it, than at any other time in my life. I enjoyed everything about it so much that one or two weeks later I’d be out looking for the next job. But to me the money was the chips, that’s all.”
Yet, by appropriating the quote sufficiently for a title for his second book, Sutton started a chain reaction that continues to this day. This is not the first time the truth was pointed out. Yet the myth persists.
Ironically, for the man who could bust out of high-security prisons, escape from a fiction has proven not only impossible, but self-inflicted as well. The day Where the Money Was took its name, Willie Sutton was handcuffed to a lie for eternity. …”
”The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
~Margaret Thatcher
Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 to December 19, 1968) was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.
The Socialist Party candidate for President of the US., Norman Thomas, said
this in a 1944 speech:
”The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the
name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist
program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing
how it happened.! “
He went on to say: “I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for
the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform.”
“… Socialism… is not the pioneer of a better and finer world, but the spoiler of what thousands of years of civilization have created. It does not build; it destroys. For destruction is the essence of it. It produces nothing, it only consumes what the social order based on private ownership in the means of production has created. …”
The one required book that you should read to learn what socialism is all about is :
Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis
by Ludwig von Mises
This masterwork is much more than a refutation of the economics of socialism (although on that front, nothing else compares). It is also a critique of the entire intellectual apparatus that accompanies the socialist idea, including the implicit religious doctrines behind Western socialist thinking, a cultural critique of socialist teaching on sex and marriage, an refutation of syndicalism and corporatism, an examination of the implications of radical human inequality, an attack on war socialism, and refutation of collectivist methodology.
In short, Mises set out to refute socialism, and instead pulled up the socialist mentality from its very roots. For that reason, Socialism led dozens of famous intellectuals, including a young F.A. Hayek, into a crisis of faith and a realist/libertarian political orientation. All the collectivist literature combined cannot equal the intellectual achievement of this one volume. Own the Book

A Contribution to the Critique of Attempts to Construct a System of Economic Calculation for the Socialist Community (p. 516)
EPILOGUE (p. 525) (Originally published in 1947 as Planned Chaos by the Foundation for Economic Freedom, Inc.)
“…The only certain fact about Russian affairs under the Soviet regime with regard to which all people agree is: that the standard of living of the Russian masses is much lower than that of the masses in the country which is universally considered as the paragon of capitalism, the United States of America. If we were to regard the Soviet regime as an experiment, we would have to say that the experiment has clearly demonstrated the superiority of capitalism and the inferiority of socialism.”
~Ludwig von Mises. Scoialism
Then to learn where socialism eventually ends up going, read Friedrich A.. Hayke’s The Road to Serfdom.
The Road to Serfdom is a book written by Friedrich von Hayek (recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1974) which transformed the landscape of political thought in the 20th century, shifting the terms of debate for millions of people across the political spectrum.[1][2]The Road to Serfdom is among the most influential and popular expositions of classical liberalism and libertarianism.
The title refers to economic and political policies which the author believes to invariably lead to the socio-economic condition known as “serfdom.”
The book was originally published by Routledge Press in March 1944 in the UK and then by the University of Chicago Press in September 1944. A condensed version of the book written by Max Eastman was then published as the lead article in the April issue of Reader’s Digest, with a press run of several million copies. This condensed version was then offered as a Book of the Month selection with a press run of over 600,000 copies. In February 1945 a picture-book version was published in Look magazine, later made into a pamphlet and distributed by General Motors. The book has been translated into approximately 20 languages and is dedicated to “The socialists of all parties.” The introduction to the 50th anniversary edition is written by Milton Friedman (another recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics 1976). In 2007, the University of Chicago Press put out a “Definitive Edition.” In total the book has sold over two million copies.[3]
…”
“…The Road to Serfdom was placed fourth on the list of the 100 best non-fiction books of the twentieth century compiled by National Review magazine. It also made #16 in reader selections of the hundred best non-fiction book of the twentieth century administered by Modern Library.[10]
The Road to Serfdom appears on Martin Seymour-Smith’s list of the 100 Most Influential Books Ever Written, whilst it made #1 on Human Events: Top Ten Books Every Republican Congressman Should Read in 2006.
The book continues to sell in the 10s of thousands of copies each year. Since the November 2008 election of Barack Obama, the University of Chicago Press has seen a massive increase in demand for this book.[citation needed]
Milton Friedman’s assessment:
” . . I think the Adam Smith role was played in this cycle [i.e. the late twentieth century collapse of socialism in which the idea of free-markets succeeded first, and then special events catalyzed a complete change of socio-political policy in countries around the world] by Friedrich Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom.”
Alan Brinkley’s assessment:
“The publication of two books .. helped to galvanize the concerns that were beginning to emerge among intellectuals (and many others) about the implications of totalitarianism. One was James Burnham’s The Managerial Revolution .. [A second] Friedrich A. Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom .. was far more controversial — and influential. Even more than Burnham, Hayek forced into public discourse the question of the compatibility of democracy and statism .. In responding to Burnham and Hayek .. liberals [in the statist sense of this term as used by some in the United States] were in fact responding to a powerful strain of Jeffersonian anti-statism in American political culture .. The result was a subtle but important shift in liberal [i.e. American statist] thinking.”
“…The Animals were an English music group of the 1960s known in the United States as part of the British Invasion. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound and deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon, as exemplified by their signature songs “The House of the Rising Sun”, “Sky Pilot” and “We Gotta Get out of This Place”, the band balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm and blues-oriented album material. The Animals underwent numerous personnel changes and emerged as an exponent of psychedelic rock before dissolving at the end of the decade. They had a comeback in 1983 and started a world tour. In early 1984 the band disbanded. There have been several reunions of the original group and in recent times Burdon and original drummer John Steel have been touring with new versions of the Animals as Eric Burdon & the Animals and Animals & Friends respectively. …”
“…Legacy
The original Animals were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Their influence can be heard in artists as varied as The Doors, The White Stripes, Joe Cocker, The Cult, Frijid Pink, The Chocolate Watchband, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Janis Joplin, David Johansen, and Fine Young Cannibals. In 2003, the band’s version of “House of the Rising Sun” ranked number 122 on Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. Their 1965 hit single “We Gotta Get out of This Place” was ranked number 233 on Rolling Stone’s The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list that was compiled in 2004. Both songs are included in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. …”
”I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air – that progress made under the shadow of the policeman’s club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave.”

UPDATED: CLINTON A REAL KILLER
Dick Morris Reveals Bombshell on Waco and Janet Reno
The American people will remember Bill Clinton’s attempt to demonize, marginalize and threaten American citizens that exercise their constitutional rights at tea parties.
The American people remember that to save the children from alleged child abuse at Mount Carmel in Waco, the Federal Government killed their parents and their children–democide–government murder of 76 people including 20 children under the age of six.
Tim McVeigh was at Waco and saw what happened.
Tim McVeigh as a direct consequence of Waco went after the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), whose actions lead to the Waco massacre, by bombing a Federal building in Oklahoma resulting in the deaths of 168 people including 19 children under the age of six and injured 680 people.
Any attempt by either Presidents Bill Clinton or Barack Obama to blame the American people, the tea parties or talk radio for what happened at Waco and Oklahoma City or any future act of terrorism in America is irresponsible and should be challenged for being untrue–another big lie.
The Federal Government’s failure to act prudently and responsibly was one of the causes that led to the deaths of 254 people including 39 children under the age of six.
When you attack Americans they will defend themselves.
The actions of David Koresh and Tim McVeigh should be condemned.
So too should the entire handling of the execution of a search warrant at Mount Carmel in Waco, Texas.
Bill Clinton was President at the time and Hillary Clinton wanted a woman Attorney General and as a result Janet Reno was the Attorney General.
President Clinton and Attorney General Reno bear some responsibility for the tragedies of Waco and Oklahoma City.
Dick Morris revelations cries out for a reopening of Waco investigation for someone is lying about who really directed the actions taken at Waco.
What did Attorney General know about either Bill Clinton’s or Hillary Clinton’s actions regarding the Waco Massacre that put her in a position to demand her reappoint as Attorney General of the United States?
Most Presidents would not have reappointed her given that she took the blame or responsibility for the Waco massacre and its tragic ending.
What was Attorney General Reno hiding or covering up about President Clinton’s or Hillary Clinton’s role?
What is being hidden and were crimes committed?
What is the truth about the Waco massacre?
Do not expect President Obama to reopen this case.
Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are both notorious liars and progressive radical socialists that attack the American people when they disagree and oppose their progressive radical socialist political agenda of the Democratic Party.
The American people are waking up and looking forward to throwing these corrupt lying politicians out of office in next three elections.
The fear and trembling of the progressive radical socialists is palpable and justified.
Both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are committing political suicide by attacking, demonizing and threatening the American people–let them.
The American people will do the right thing and vote most if not all the progressive radical socialist Democrats and Republicans out of office in future elections.

Bill Clinton Murderous President
“…On February 28, 1993, the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) attempted to execute a search warrant at the Branch Davidian ranch at Mount Carmel, a property located nine miles (14 km) east-northeast of Waco, Texas. An exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of four agents and six Davidians. A subsequent 51-day siege by the Federal Bureau of Investigation ended on April 19 when either the government forces or the Davidians set the complex ablaze. 79 people, including 21 children and Davidian leader David Koresh, died in the incident. This has come to be known as the Waco Siege. (Source)
Linda Thompson is with the American Justice Federation. This is one of the most disturbing videos that exists. If you want to know what went on in Waco, then this is the ONE video you need to see. Many things are caught on film and are presented in this video, that did not make it to mainstream T.V. news. …”

“…This controversial documentary about the stand-off between an unorthodox Christian group – the Branch Davidians, under the leadership of the young, charismatic David Koresh - and the FBI and ATF in Waco, Texas, from February to April 1993 presents a different spin on the events from that of the United States government, which held that the Branch Davidians set the fire that destroyed their compound, and killed the vast majority of them, on April 19, 1993. Using footage from the 51 day siege, from the congressional hearings afterwards, from people involved in all aspects of the siege, and from experts technical, psychological, and religious, the movie suggests that the Branch Davidians were not a cult, but a valid religious group practicing under First Amendment freedoms who fell victim to first the ineptitude of an ATF raid designed to garner the agency positive attention and later the cruel, methodical work of the FBI, who over-saw the murder of the Davidians and then quickly covered it up. …”
