Obama/Biden 2008: Defeatist Democrats Anoint Arrogant Socialist Senators
Beatles- I’m a Loser
I’m a loser
I’m a loser
And I’m not what I appear to be
Of all the love I have won or have lost
there is one love I should never have crossed
She was a girl in a million, my friend
I should have known she would win in the end
I’m a loser
And I lost someone who’s near to me
I’m a loser
And I’m not what I appear to be
Although I laugh and I act like a clown
Beneath this mask I am wearing a frown
My tears are falling like rain from the sky
Is it for her or myself that I cry
I’m a loser
And I lost someone who’s near to me
I’m a loser
And I’m not what I appear to be
What have I done to deserve such a fate
I realize I have left it too late
And so it’s true, pride comes before a fall
I’m telling you so that you won’t lose all
I’m a loser
And I lost someone who’s near to me
I’m a loser
And I’m not what I appear to be
In war there is no substitute for victory.
~General Douglas MacArthur

Senator Barack Obama selected Senator Joseph Biden, a 36-year tenured talker as his Vice-Presidential running mate. Senator Biden has chaired both the Senator Foreign Relations and Judiciary Committees.
Who is Joe Biden?

Joe Biden / 1972
Joe Biden
“Joseph Robinette “Joe” Biden, Jr. (pronounced /’bаɪ dɛn/) (born November 20, 1942), is the senior United States senator from Delaware, and the presumptive Democratic Party vice presidential nominee in the 2008 US presidential election.
Raised in Delaware, Biden trained as a lawyer and became a senator in 1973 at age 30 — the sixth-youngest senator in U.S. history. He has served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, dealing with issues related to drug policy, crime prevention, and civil liberties. He is a long-time member and current chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and has worked on resolutions concerning the Yugoslav and Iraq wars. …”

Biden has a justly deserved reputation for being a egomaniacal, liberal, and chatty cathy senator–the minimum qualifications for a lefty elitist.
By choosing Biden, Barack Obama reveals what he values most–talk and values least–votes.
Senator Biden was selected primarily to attract white male and older voters.
Senator Hillary Clinton received over 18 million votes in the Democratic primaries.
Most of Senator Clinton’s votes were in the big 10 states needed to win a Presidential general election including California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Senator Biden received so few votes that he eventually got the message and dropped out of the race.
Senator Obama mainly won the smaller caucus states, many of which invariably vote Republican in Presidential general elections, especially the western and southern states.

In selecting Senator Biden as his running mate, Barack Obama made his first major decision as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee; he also made his first major mistake for which he will be severely punished at the ballot box in November.
Senator Obama should have followed the precedent of Senator John F. Kennedy, who selected in 1960 his closest rival for the Presidential nomination, Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, as his Vice-President running mate.
Senator Kennedy, a Roman Catholic, knew he had to carry both Texas and Illinois to win the Presidential election. Therefore, he reluctantly offerred Senator Johnson the Vice-President spot on the ticket, hoping Johnson would decline and remain in the Senate as Majority Leader.

Presidential tally[2]:
- John F. Kennedy – 806 (52.89%)
- Lyndon B. Johnson – 409 (26.84%)
- Stuart Symington – 86 (5.64%)
- Adlai Stevenson – 80 (5.25%)
- Robert B. Meyner – 43 (2.82%)
- Hubert Humphrey – 42 (2.76%)
- George Smathers – 30 (1.97%)
- Ross Barnett – 23 (1.51%)
- Herschel C. Loveless – 2 (0.13%)
- Pat Brown, Orval E. Faubus, Albert Dean Rosellini – each 1 vote
Johnson was nominated unamiously as Vice Presidential candidate[3], receiving all 1,521 votes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)_presidential_primaries,_1960
Senator Johnson surprised Kennedy by accepting the offer.
While both Senator Kennedy and his brother Robert detested Johnson and tried to persuade him to reverse his acceptance of their offer, Senator Johnson stood by his to decision to accept the nomination.
The 1960 election was one of the closest elections for President with Illinois and Texas providing the slim margin needed to win. Voter fraud in both states was one of the keys to winning. Both Texas Senator Johnson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley of Illinois knew how to stuff the ballot box.

If Senator Obama has followed the Kennedy precedent, he should have selected Senator Hillary Clinton, his closest rival for the Presidential nomination, as his Vice-Presidential running mate.
By selecting Senator Biden he will lose in November for his selection only highlights Senator’s Obama’s inexperience and lack of qualifications for the office of President of the United States.
Had Senator Obama followed the Kennedy precedent and selected Senator Clinton as his Vice-President running mate, he would have won in a very close race with a McCain/Romney Republican ticket.
“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”
~ Proverbs 16:18
http://bible.cc/proverbs/16-18.htm
Voter turnout will as usual be the key to winning in November.
Senator Clinton would have attracted woman voters, especially older woman above the age of forty.
The typical older voter reaction to a Obama/Biden ticket is–Biden/Obama makes more sense.
A McCain/Romney ticket makes even better sense to older voters, both men and woman.
Since older voters are more likely to vote than younger voters, this presents a real problem for Senator Obama.
Senator Biden was put on the ticket for his foreign affairs experience and to attract white male voters.
In early 2006 Senator John McCain was the leading advocate of change in military leadership and strategy in Iraq and was highly critical of President Bush in his handling of the Iraq war.
Most defeatist Democrats including Senators Biden, Clinton and Obama opposed the surge strategy of General David Petraeus and urged the retreat, withdrawal, and redeployment of American troops from Iraq.
Victory in Iraq is at hand.
The American surge troops have returned home.
Senator McCain was right.
Senators Obama and Biden were wrong.

When it comes to foreign affairs and the use of the military, the Democrats have been consistently wrong.
The election of Democratic President Kennedy in 1960 lead to the defeat in Cuba at the Bay of Pigs and the building of the Berlin.
The election of Democratic President Johnson in 1964 lead to the defeat in Vietnam.
The election of Republican President Nixon for a second term in 1972 in which he won 49 states was not because the American people thought Nixon had lost the Vietnam War.
The Democrats in Congress refused to enforce the peace treaty and fund continuing military aid to South Vietnam.
The Democrats started and lost the Vietnam War.
The election of Democratic President Carter in 1976 lead to the establishment of a hostile Islamic government in Iran and the 444 day Iran hostage crisis.
The election of Democratic President Clinton in 1992 and 1996 lead to the US retreat from Somalia and the repeated failures to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. President Bill Clinton greatly decreased the size of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines and the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency. This in turn resulted in the coordinated terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Within the next three to six months there is a distinct possibility that the United States will be engaging in a military conflict with Iran, Syria, and Russia.

McCain Ad: Biden on Mccain
A Obama/Biden ticket will lose.
Only Biden has the experience, qualifications and maturity to be President, Obama does not.
A McCain/Romney ticket will win.
Both have the experience, qualifications, and maturity to be President.
A Obama/Biden ticket should lose the election with 40% of the popular vote and at least 200 electorial votes.
A McCain/Romney ticket should win the election with 55% of the popular vote and at least 300 electorial votes.
Voter turnout, as well as illegal alien voter fraud, will be the key to victory.
In war and politics there is no substitute for victory.
“we should remember Vietnam. This is what we should remember: Whenever Democrats dabble in military affairs, America suffers relentless defeats, entire continent fall to Communism, America loses wars, invasion fail, Americans are taken hostages, American soldiers are dragged through the streets, and the nations is demoralized and humilated. It is a fact that Democrats have been responsible for every unmitigated foreign policy diaster since World War II.

Election 2008: Electoral College Update
Electoral College Update: Obama Lead Narrows to 10 Votes
“…The latest numbers from the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator show Obama leading in states with 193 Electoral College votes and McCain ahead in states with 183 Electoral College votes. Previously, Obama had enjoyed a 210–165 advantage.
Currently, states with 135 Electoral College votes are leaning slightly in one way or the other, and three states with a total of 27 votes — Colorado, Nevada and Virginia — are pure toss-ups.

Women Voters Favor Obama Over McCain
“…The survey showed that 76 percent of women who supported Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries now say they will vote for Obama. Eighteen percent of Clinton supporters say they will vote for McCain. Despite disappointment among many, especially older women at Clinton’s loss, the survey shows that a majority of women blame her loss on the candidate herself and her campaign strategists. Only 21 percent said they believe she lost “because she is a woman.” And as pollster Conway points out, most women credit Hillary Clinton with paving the way for future female presidential candidates. …”
“…Kohut said polls show Obama running better among women than the 2004 Democratic nominee, Senator John Kerry, was at this point in the race. But Kohut cautioned there is one group of women that is not supporting Obama.
“The problem is most difficult for Obama with older women,” Kohut said. “There is probably a couple of strikes there. Older people have more concerns about his lack of experience, and older women were pretty strong backers of Senator Clinton. …”

Obama Winning Women Voters, but Margin Slimmest Among Baby Boomers
New poll shows Obama with 12-point lead among all female respondents
“Although surveys show the presidential race could be a squeaker, Barack Obama is winning women 51 to 39 percent, according to a poll conducted for EMILY’s List. The group, which supports Democratic, pro-choice women candidates and is behind Obama in ‘08, found that Obama leads among women voters of all age groups, but his advantage is narrowest among baby boomers.
Female voters have trended Democratic in their choice for the White House in recent elections, although John Kerry won them by a mere 3 percentage points in 2004. That’s down from Al Gore’s 11-point margin in 2000 and Bill Clinton’s whopping 16-point margin in 1996.
The 1980s were another story, particularly during Ronald Reagan’s re-election bid in 1984, when he attracted female voters by a 12-point margin. …”
“…These 44-to-62-year-old women are diverse. Younger boomers are working and raising families while older ones are in retirement or approaching it.
They give Obama the slimmest margin over McCain: 49 to 43 percent. The age group split evenly four years ago for President George W. Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry, 49 percent a piece.
Born between 1946 and 1964, these women have a positive take on America becoming more racially diverse, but not as much as younger women. They have a marginally negative view of the growing acceptance of homosexuals and same-sex unions, with 41 percent unfavorable and 34 percent favorable.
They’re also more apt than any other age cohort to say sexism remains a problem for women: 79 percent agree.
Their top political hero: President John F. Kennedy. …”

The Surge Succeeds
By J.R. Dunn
“It’s now quite clear how the results of the surge will be dealt with by domestic opponents of the Iraq war.
They’re going to be ignored.
They’re being ignored now. Virtually no media source or Democratic politician (and not a few Republicans, led by Richard “I can always backtrack” Lugar) is willing to admit that the situation on the ground has changed dramatically over the past three months. Coalition efforts have undergone a remarkable reversal of fortune, a near-textbook example as to how an effective strategy can overcome what appear to be overwhelming drawbacks.
Anbar is close to being secured, thanks to the long-ridiculed strategy of recruiting local sheiks. A capsule history of war coverage could be put together from stories on this topic alone – beginning with sneers, moving on to “evidence” that it would never work, to the puzzled pieces of the past few months admitting that something was happening, and finally the recent stories expressing concern that the central government might be “offended” by the attention being paid former Sunni rebels. (Try to find another story in the legacy media worrying about the feelings of the Iraqi government.) What you will not find is any mention of the easily-grasped fact that Anbar acts as a blueprint for the rest of the country. If the process works there, it will work elsewhere. If it works in other areas, that means the destruction of the Jihadis in detail. …”

Iraq War troop surge of 2007
“The “troop surge” is a phrase commonly used to describe U.S. President George W. Bush’s plan to increase the number of American troops deployed to the Iraq War to provide security to Baghdad and Al Anbar Province.
The surge had been developed under the working title “The New Way Forward.” It was announced by Bush on January 10, 2007 during a national television speech. Bush ordered the deployment of five additional U.S brigades to Iraq, mainly to the capital Baghdad, and extended the tour of 4,000 Marines already in Iraq.
The surge was opposed by the U.S. Congress, which tried to pass a number of pieces of legislation opposing the plan and calling for troop withdrawals. Most of these failed to pass however in February, the House of Representatives passed a non-binding resolution criticizing the plan.[1][2]
The plan began with a major operation to secure Baghdad, codenamed Operation Fardh al-Qanoon (Operation Imposing Law), which was launched in February 2007. However, only in mid-June 2007, with the full deployment of the 28,000 additional U.S. troops, could major counter-insurgency efforts get fully under way. Operation Phantom Thunder was launched throughout Iraq on June 16, with a number of subordinate operations targeting insurgents in Diyala province, Anbar province and the southern Baghdad Belts.[3][4].
The additional surge troops also participated in Operation Phantom Strike and Operation Phantom Phoenix, named after the III “Phantom” Corps which was the major U.S. unit in Iraq throughout 2007. …”
“…That means a continuation of the surge, and of the strategy of General Petreaus. Will that be enough? It’s impossible to say. But the past few months have been the most surprising in the entire Iraq saga to date. I have a feeling that Al-Queda (and the media, and the Democrats), will have a few more surprises coming in the months ahead.”

McCain turns Bush on Iraq war surge
President now praises senator’s foresight
“Senator John McCain who watched from a prison camp as America failed to deploy the overwhelming force necessary to win the Vietnam War, seized the moment after Republicans lost Congress in 2006 to push President Bush not to make the same mistake.
Mr. McCain sent a private letter to Mr. Bush on Dec. 12, 2006, that challenged the president to show the “will” to win the Iraq war by deploying 20,000 troops into Baghdad and the Sunni Triangle to beat back a growing insurgency.
The letter was the climax of a 3 1/2-year effort to persuade the president to send more troops to Iraq. The former Navy pilot, who had his arms repeatedly broken during nearly six years of captivity, couched his argument in the terms born of the Vietnam War.
“The question is one of will more than capacity,” wrote the senior Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. “If we are not willing to provide the troops necessary for victory, however, victory itself will be impossible.”
Mr. McCain, whose letter is made public here for the first time, added that “surging five additional brigades into Baghdad by March” was the answer.
Mr. Bush, who had resisted Mr. McCain’s call for a troop surge for years, now praises him for persisting in his argument that expanding the war in Iraq was the way to win it.

McCain, Obama Clash Over Iraq Troop Surge
By Michael Bowman
“…Speaking on ABC’s This Week program, McCain accused Obama of taking a politically expedient position on Iraq that would have put America’s entire mission in jeopardy.
“He [Obama] does not understand what is at stake here,” said John McCain. “And he chose to take a political path that helped him get the nomination of his party. I took a path [in backing the surge] that I knew was unpopular, because I knew we had to win in Iraq. And we are winning in Iraq. And if we had done what Senator Obama wanted done, it would have been chaos, genocide, increased Iranian influence, and perhaps al-Qaida establishing a base again [in Iraq].”
For Obama, the important question is not whether the surge was a good idea, but how best to deploy America’s limited military and financial resources going forward, given what he considers an ill-advised U.S. decision to invade Iraq in 2003. The senator spoke on NBC’s Meet The Press program. …”

Biden flashback: Wrong on the surge
By Michelle Malkin • August 24, 2008 10:51 AM
Here’s a reminder of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s resolution opposing the surge, which passed 12-9 on Jan. 25:
Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., the panel’s chairman, said the legislation is “not an attempt to embarrass the president. … It’s an attempt to save the president from making a significant mistake with regard to our policy in Iraq.”
…Biden, who sponsored the measure with Hagel and Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the measure is aimed at getting the administration’s attention. He noted that Bush has said he will be moving forward with his Iraq plans he outlined in a Jan. 10 address regardless of what Congress says.
The measure “is designed to let the president know that there are many in both parties, Democrats and Republicans, that believe a change in our mission to go into Baghdad — in the midst of a civil war — as well as a surge in ground troops … is the wrong way to go, and I believe it will have the opposite — I repeat — opposite effect the president intends,” Biden said.

Despite the Dems and the allied main stream media’s desperation to see Romney as McCain’s Veep, Mitt is clearly out, with (1) Obama doubling down on the class warfare theme (McCain’s 7 houses) and (2) McCain doubling down with ads showing the hypocrisy of Biden attacking Obama in the primaries — Romney did way more than that contra McCain.
This leaves only Govs Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty. Pro-abortion Ridge and Dem-Lieberman were never real considerations, despite relentless media goading. Pawlenty’s lackluster TV performances, coupled with Palin pizzazz, the primacy of oil drilling and the ticked off women/Hillary voters, does now portend a McCain/Palin checkmate on the Dems. This is so albeit the Dems and liberal media dare not mention Palin’s name, that is, everyone but…..
And if there’s any question as to Palin being uniquely positioned and able to more than nullify Biden in debate, see the excellent discussion at palinforvp.blogspot.com
Team McCain, well done!!!
